Keeping a Positive Atmosphere in Instance Groups

People in your dungeon group not cooperating? Is a raid falling apart because of that one person? Here is a guide on how to positively enforce the ideals of decent conduct, even when other people in the game are threatening to bring you down!

"Measure twice, cut once.."
Check to ensure you are evaluating the given situation with accuracy. Don't leap to conclusions based on the only time that Holy Paladin grabbed the trash mobs. Just mention in instance chat, if they haven't already said anything, that they should not be taking hold of the trash mobs. You never know, it may just be a brief mess-up on their part! That is why it is important to pay mind to the infrequent instead of the frequent. You'll see a better side of the situation!

"Two wrongs don't make a right!"
It's one thing if somebody had been tanking by accident. However, if they're making it clear that their intentions were no mistake, that's when you'll need to put on a more professional attitude. Don't, I repeat, don't resort to name-calling or harassment. If you do, you'll have stooped as low as they have. Instead, do your best to enforce control as the tank, in terms of gaming. The alternative option is to set up a vote to ultimately kick the person from the group, if they're acting with extreme arrogance.

It's a team effort~!
Just remember that the people you are raiding/dungeoning are actually people behind a screen! They have feelings, just as you do. If you go on the offensive, they will go on the defensive. Try to remind yourself that the goal is an excellent raid, as well as the fact that it gets finished. However, it all depends on the team!

Like the short but straight to the point guide:)
Honestly, most runs I'm a part of are good, Some are great and some really,really suck- usually down to one or two awful people who are determined to make things suck.
usually its a troll, who is there to ruin the run- oddly enough with raids its the Monday runs that suffer from this :)
All I'd ever say is- Criticism doesn't make a run bad. If you are doing something wrong or some one more experienced knows something you don't it pays to listen and to at least respond in chat, BUT respond pleasantly, don't be a %^&*- even if they are.
Most people are there to have fun, and a great group usually starts with everyone saying Hello..True story.

I wish more people would take advice like this into consideration when running dungeons. I tanked a very newbish group the other day with poor dps, little understanding of any mechanics, etc etc. I didn't rage at them once though, they're new, they're learning. They all seemed like nice people so why the hell should I get mad? Patience is a virtue.

Cool guide, its nice to see something like this.

Its essential to keep your game time a happy time. The more people strive for a healthy community, the better the game becomes. Help your fellow party member learn proper group etiquette, without letting the situation become volatile. Everyone starts somewhere and not everyone knows how things operate. The better a situation is handled the better your grouping experience will be.
