This item has the unique distinction of being the only grey weapon with a discrepancy of 10 between its level requirement and item level. Every other Poor-quality weapon in WoW Classic has a 5 level discrepancy between equip/item levels. If level 1 gear pieces are counted, then Ripped Ogre Loincloth shares this rather unique distinction as the only armor piece with a 10 level discrepancy between equip/item levels.

There are 4 other grey armor pieces that don't follow the 5 level difference rule, and those are:
- Patchwork Cloak (6 level discrepancy between equip/item level)
- Loose Chain Cloak (6 level discrepancy between equip/item level)
- Cracked Buckler (6 level discrepancy between equip/item level; BIS level 1 shield; replaced at level 2)
- Worn Leather Gloves (6 level discrepancy between equip/item level; BIS level 1-3 leather gloves; replaced at level 4 for the horde, and replaced only at level 5 for the alliance)

Ultimately, this bow is roughly equivalent to a level 30-32 green (Uncommon) quality weapon, and it could very well be a worthwhile acquisition for an unlucky hunter who simply hasn't looted a better ranged weapon from his kills during the grind from ~33 to 45. The item level suggests this bow should actually require level 50 to equip, making it a little better than your basic grey quality item.

The only relatively easily obtainable ranged weapons acquired through questing from levels 30 to 45 are Blasting Hackbut (Dustwallow Marsh quest, horde only) and Shrapnel Blaster (Stranglethorn Vale quest, alliance only), but both quests still pose some problems for a speed leveler, as they're in inconvenient locations, are arduous chain quests and require you to kill elites or multiple mobs simultaneously.

You could also run dungeons for superior options, but a quick leveler usually skips slow and unnecessary dungeons for the faster solo questing method. In the end, only a very unlucky hunter would ever have to resort to actually using this poorly constructed excuse of a bow, but it does still have some potential use in a very unrealistic, yet possible scenario.
