I'm really not understanding why there are so many druids insisting that being immune to CC is a "core" mechanic of their class. (An even sillier suggestion is the idea that insta-cast flight form is a core mechanic). I suspect that all it really comes down to is PVP druids realizing that they'll have to actually fight someone in PVP rather than just run away with impunity.
If the goal of removing the shapeshift ability to get out of roots/snares is to prevent OP flag runners in WG, why not just say that the act of shapeshifting causes the flag to be dropped?

As a feral druid, I really have to say a few things about this patch. We have always been less than competitive in arenas until Cataclysm. Now we are a little overpowered, maybe to compensate for all the time we were not even considered for arena teams, unless we specced restoration. With this patch the way it is today, restoration will be the only option for PvP as a druid once again, and I am stupefied by how clueless Blizzard seems to be regarding balance in this game. Everyone can see that, by the MANY BIG CHANGES being made.I was quietly accepting those nerfs, until I read "shapeshifting doesn't cancel root effects".The day this happens, feral is dead for me.
maybe doing away with canceling the snare for shapeshift is a bit harsh. i would suggest putting in a 30sec cd for shapeshift instead.
Maybe people would be happier to see a few BUFFS instead of so many nerfs, for a change. Buff the characters who suffer too much for a mechanic you think is overpowered, instead of nerfing everything. ;)Arms warriors, for example, could really use a counter to root effects, imo. Most classes that depend on them have many.
BLIZZARD,WHY U NO BUFF RUPTURE
That blade flurry buff is huge in PvE. I might even switch over to Combat spec for raids now. Also, to anyone whining on the shapeshifting nerf, deal with it. Druids being nonsnare/rootable was annoying as heck to deal with. Most classes have a long cooldown get away from snares. Druids? Quick and easy. It makes it much more fair when say, a frost mage goes against a druid. Also
Ugh god I usually don't ever comment on any of these patch notes. Like a druid said above me I take my nerfs quietly. But, not being able to cancel root effects? Good-bye PvP Gear. Now it's time to get facerolled by frost mages WOO!
I personally think that the druid change should have gone the other way: let it keep removing root, but not remove snares.
