We're always looking for ways to improve Heroes of the Storm, and this year we've been hard at work on a number of changes designed to improve gameplay at all skill levels. We showed these changes to professional players and key community members earlier this year, and now we're opening them up to the public through an extended testing period on the PTR, beginning on November 20. Let us know what you think!
We are slightly increasing the in-game field of view to help improve team fight clarity and overall visibility.
In order to properly balance Stealth for both casual and high-end play, we're making it easier to spot stealthed Heroes. This is accompanied by buffs to the Stealth Heroes.
To better showcase individual skill in lane matchups, we're exploring ways to make the laning phase more meaningful without increasing overall game length.
To create more impactful choices about how, when, and which Mercenary Camps to capture, we are making changes to various Mercenaries.
It's about to get easier than ever to coordinate plays with your allies, because we're integrating Blizzard Voice directly into the Heroes of the Storm client! Voice chat in Heroes will be available in the months to come.
We're further increasing the accuracy of our matchmaking system by taking your individual performance and contributions into account after each match, rather than relying solely on victory or defeat.
More details coming soon!
<3 Alexstrasa! Very nice cinematic :)
Alexstrasza and Hanzo both look pretty fun. I hope they'll end up being great additions.I've gotta say, I'm a little sad even HOTS is getting a better FOV setting, yet Overwatch is still out there, making me feel a bit ill when I play. :SLooks like some nice changes incoming for HOTS, though. These Camera changes should make a huge difference in playability and QoL.
Alex here I come
As an Avid player of Heroes of the Storm ( Plat 1 in Hero League and Master in Team League) I really would like to see how they are going to implement Alex into high elo games. She has the potential to be so strong, but a squishy assasin will be a problem, probably will do really good with an Ana or a Malfurion I'm suspecting.
So glad it's going performance based! And I'm even more excited to play Alexstrasza!
love alexstrazas costumes and dragon forms!
I'm curious to know where HotS stands in comparison to LoL now. I know the whole point of Heroes 2.0 was to try and update the game to be more appealing, and I wonder if they were successful...
I'm loving these changes. Stealth was in need of some work, and this may be the right way to go. Stoked about everything they announced tbh. These changes will shake the meta and the game forever.
Loving blizzcon so far, can't wait for tomorrow!
Thank you for all the great coverage!
Interesting changes coming to HotS. Becoming more of a regular MOBA now XD
I love Alexstrasza
Oh, man. I'm so keen to get back into HOTS now! I HAVE to play Alexstrasza! Although, seeing her in that cinematic makes me sad that Ysera isn't with us anymore. Instant sads.
The change to stealth is so wonderful, no longer will you constantly have to ping the spot where the enemy stealth hero is.
The farstrider Hanzo skin looks a little silly but excited to check out the new updates
Don't play HotS much, just from time to time with friends. But intro for characteres is epic!
Alexstrasza looks amazing!
Alexstrasza looks really fun! Gonna have to get her when I'm able to.
HotS can be a lot of fun to play, but it isn't WoW.Putting in a dragon is cool, though. Should have been NEFARIAN!
The hero reveal cinematic was excellent, especially watching in the Mythic hall with everyone during the Opening Ceremony.
