Hold on to your butts!
the problem will be with bosses more hp and no worldbuffs casterdps will be oom very fast, especially at beginning and even more for the horde, so people will play most alliance (cause of pala blessing and manabuff on boss) or stacking 20 dps warriors, cause they have most hp most armor and dont need mana and you dont need to farm Manapots or dark runes for them. Raids will be maxout by Warriors Rogues.. Maybe warlocks cause of aderlass or Hunter with autoshots^^
Man, this is like a dream come true. APES are gonna have a field day with new mechanics and higher HP and no buffs. Some actual challenge.
Big words. Gonna be even bigger if they deliver!
SoM just sounds like it hates mana users, just stack warriors/rogues for a better time
why bringing people with that problem if you can have warriors doing more dps and dont need to manage anything. If they dont nerf warriors and rogues or buff manaclasses it will be a warriors stacking clownfiesta 3.0 cause nobody wants a manadps class doing 30 sec dmg and then using 1 min their wand doing 50 dmg every 2 seconds cause of waiting for mana. Better have a noob geared warrior doing 300 dps, then a shadow or mage doing 400 dps for 1 min and then 30 dps for 2 min ^^
So we didn't like that other classes were going to raid in classic, so we are making changes so that only warriors and rogues can raid again.
People played on private servers without world buff most of the time (fights were harder too), and mana was just fine and casters dps too, I was one of them on an average guild, you'll have to pop more mana pots, dark rune, and optimize your gear in a different way depending on the encounters. That's a great way to play, and vanilla passionates will love it, others that want to play like Classic can just not play. This is not a game for everyone, but everyone is welcome to this new experience.I think Blizzard is really having a great mindset for these fresh servers, and I don't trust them most of the time. I hope that they deliver something great.
The copy of VanillaPlus? Blizz should watch them
Without balancing specs classes there is hardly a point in just increasing the difficulty of raid encounters. Particularly since casters are limited by their mana increasing the fight length will just favour rogues or warriors, unless the whole point of it is that the meta shifts to an even narrower band of viable specs. And while for classic you could assume that people would play it in a casual style, let's just face it: People who are actually committed to replay classic in the Mastery setting are people who dedicated to the game and are min-maxing, there is no place even for a semi-viable spec.
Blizzard, buff mana and hybrid class! This boss HP increase pool is great, but you need to buff some classes during each SoM. It it will be World of Warrior/Rogue fiesta !
They should also nerf engineering, horde, and warriors.
Aside from adding some "surprise" here and there, the only change that would be worth it is to make skipping mechanics and often whole phases harder. Dispense with timers and make more stuff percentage based. No skipping Sons, make it so it is "90 seconds in or 40% whichever happens first" and give the same treatment to everything with static timers.
Regarding Phase 1 DPS charts:DPS Warriors are hit especially hard by the lack of world buffs (because of how they scale, and because of rage generation). They're not the only ones hit, but looking at phase 5 and 6 "no world-buffs" logs shows they don't have anywhere near the lead they did with world buffs. However, people need to remember the gear advantage warriors have early in the game. Warriors will still be on top, but not by as much.Warlocks are set to gain between 15% and 30% more damage due to having DoTs (depending mainly on if they can use Curse of Agony). Not enough to make them #1, but enough to make them, say, tier 1.5 damage. Warlocks do lose some DPS in longer fights, but not catastrophically (and the penalty goes away if there's any movement)Hunters will be significantly higher on the meters than they were before due to the fact that the biggest world buffs didn't apply to ranged attacks.Rogues get a small but significant bonus from having bleeds. I'm not as familiar with rogues, but the consensus seems to be they'll probably be the #2 DPS class.Mages are going to be all about mana management. They no longer have to worry about Winter's Chill, Fire Vulnerability, and Ignite being pushed off, but longer fights will punish them... and they still have to spend 2 raid tiers as frost.Hybrid DPS is going to have more ability to do damage (compared to non-world buffed hybrids in Classic), but more severe mana issues. Thus the most likely outcome is warriors being tier 1 DPS, all pure DPS classes being tier 1.5 (and fairly close to each other), and hybrids likely being well behind (except on shorter fights).EDIT: some of the context for this comment is now missing, but since this topic always comes up during these discussions, I'll leave it.
