"my complaint is there's no value to the complaints of others" - this poster. :thinking:Or, how about, idk, there's people out there who have a different opinion than you do and, S H O C K E R, that's okay.
I hope any one who defending anima system will start use his brain next time when he write something. This system is againts players to dry hey cash.
Everyone in here is whining about the anima cost but is no one gonna point out that this mount requires 9 weeks of Ember Courts to obtain AFTER YOU UNLOCK THE LEVEL 4 UPGRADE? I'm gonna go for it, because this was my favorite recolor of the gorgon mounts, but I'm not exactly thrilled at the prospect of months upon months of waiting simply because Ember Courts are time-gated.
I'm surprised people are already Best Friends with Countess
dude that 175 anima comes from the weekly quest for dungeons not M+

It's pretty crazy how vehemently Blizzard stans will cape for any decision the company makes. Anima and its rewards, as a value proposition, are complete trash. The time v.s reward metric is bonkers, most of the covenant upgrades are designed to be long grinds that are hardly even worth a fraction of the 'effort' put in. It isn't even the usual 'time gating' whining, it's just nakedly built to drive MAUs without any thought being given to how fun any of it is. Yet you people lap it up! Farming recolored armor sets and +25% companion heal times is content that's supposed to last two years -- and that is perfectly normal? To hell with that. And before the usual 'iF yOu dOn'T lIkE tHe GaMe tHeN qUiT!' I'm way ahead of you. Unsubbed a few days ago, I'll probably come back for the patch since contrary to popular belief, hating a 'feature' =/= hating the game, but even then anima grind is dead to me. Might finish one of the sets since I managed to collect some of it before deciding I'd rather spend time with my wife than keep running the same dailies I've been doing for months for factions I got exalted with months ago, but Blizzard can take a long walk off a short pier if they think this crap is worth my time in the long run.
We might get something that increases the anima gain, similar to artifact knowledge or the catch up azerite mechanics. Of course even if we don't, it's not like we were intended to get all this stuff right away-
I agree the the anima grind is a bit too much, particularly since the items and things we receive from it actually doesn't help with player progression for the most part. You're unlocking an appearance ... but it doesn't actually do anything to improve your characters power and such. I think the cost of cosmetic items should be lowered since they serve no purpose other than giving you something different to look at. I can understand working hard for the stuff that will actually improve your character's stats, power, and abilities ... but seriously, the cosmetic stuff is a little over priced in my opinion, especially considering how much anima is required to unlock other things as well. I play frequently, but I get bored with the World Quests as well, plus the time it takes to get from one to another in certain zones (like Revendreth) is a bit irritating, not to mention that you have to return to Oribos first before going to another zone. I'm sure it will be more smooth when we get flying. I mean, it must be nice to be able to hyper focus on a game all the time for those of you saying that people aren't playing enough, but most of us are adults with jobs and children and other responsibilities, and we would like to at least be able to have access to some of the more fun (albeit useless) things, like transmog. I personally suffer from migraines so I can't be playing WoW all the time, even when I want to. I think that the people who are upset at the cost of anima for some of these items have a very valid argument. Like I said, if it's something that will actually improve your character's power and stuff, then yes, make it so you have to work for it, but the cosmetics should really be a little easier to obtain.
I’m genuinely astonished anyone can defend the anima costs of things with a straight face. Do they only play one character and covenant? Have they not bothered to look at the costs of some of the ensembles? For example, Court of Night has ensembles that cost 25k anima each (plus rep and grateful offerings). There’s an ensemble for each armor class. So you have to get four characters to exalted (takes a long time, especially if you’re not Night Fae, as rep is limited to activities related to the NF anima conductor), farm up 25k an8ma, farm up the grateful offerings...and then you have one armor set. There are a bunch of other anima costing cosmetics from that one faction alone. I haven’t bothered to add up how much everything costs because it’s too depressing and it just makes me feel like there’s no point in even bothering since I can’t get anything anyway. I haven’t bought any cosmetics that cost anima at all. I still need a bunch of sanctum upgrades on my main as I’m to the point where it takes weeks to farm up enough anima to get a single one. But there are people who genuinely think that if I’m not willing to spend an hour a day chasing world quests that give as little as 35 anima while taking ten minutes to get to the quest and do it, I’m lazy and don’t deserve anything? That’s not laziness, it’s self respect and recognizing that my time is worth more than that. Very few people think stuff should just be handed to us, but the high costs combined with the sheer number of things available is absurd, especially given how long many of them take to unlock access to in the first place. That’s without even getting into all the extra stuff the Night Fae have to buy with their soul shapes and extra reps.
