Development Update for Legion Mythic+ Timewalking - Difficulty Reduced, Azerite & Essences Not Intended

Our upcoming PTR build will include tuning adjustments intended to reduce the difficulty of these dungeons by approximately 3 keystone levels. While there’s still work to do, we expect they should now feel closer to their Shadowlands counterparts at a given key level.

To answer some questions above:

Azerite gear/essences functioning in these dungeons was a bug. It should be fixed now, but please let us know if you see anything unusual.
We’re not looking to drastically change the feel of dungeons or available strategies, but we’re open to changing some things to better match modern player expectations or improve the feel of the dungeon, such as active mitigation mechanics. Snapping fixes could be part of that.
If an Infernal beacon is not activated, it will activate automatically when the boss close to it is engaged. The main goal here is flexibility and allowing for bold strategic choices to save time, but a more clear “upside” is something we’ve discussed as a possibility.

It is timewalking after all let the people flex their work from previous expansions or let people go and farm the previous expansions for pieces that scale down to timewalking... I would call it Rextroy mode LOL

I think it would be cool if they would make a special version that was locked at like +15 or +20 where all the old gear would work, and maybe it could just have its own set of rewards, or a cool achievement, something to recognize the achievements that players have earned by playing thru the expansions over the years.

For me, I never finished my WoD ring, so I wouldn't have that. Likewise I never even played in Legion, so I wouldn't have a maxed out artifact weapon, but I did go back and get all my legos from legion so at least I could piece together a couple of those along with all my essences/azerite gear, my lego daggers, and etc. It would be fun to see, but I am sure it would turn into a #$%^ show from a balancing perspective since I am sure that one or two classes would be able to find some uber combination that would break the system and its not like you could go back and change that gear since it would defeat the whole point of the game mode.Comment by couchpotato2013This might be a bad take but it is my take... Normal Timewalking, just like every other expansion, should allow it. It's fun. Any Timewalking week, I bust out all the older stuff that makes me a powerhouse monster.

- Heart of Azeroth and Azerite Gear (Yeah, I held onto 3 pieces of gear, useful for doing older content that isn't just "lol, hit once and win" yet)
- If MoP or earlier, Legendary Cloak from MoP (Xuen's is just unfair DPS)

I don't have Shadowmourne yet, but, it would definitely come out for WotLK/TBC Timewalking weeks.Comment by ShadockThat’s a bummer, even though I know Azerite Essences were not in original Legion, I was really excited to use them. Even though some mechanics were absolute BS, I enjoyed the hell out of the lore and environment of BfA. Loved Zandalar and Kul'tiras. Loved Mechagon and Nazjatar. Even loved the Nzoth assaults (not so much the Visions). But Shadowlands feel so... empty. Disconnected. Doesn't feel like I'm playing WoW anymore, but some other game. I miss Azeroth SO MUCH. Pretty sure blizzard just wants to give players another 6 dungeons to play on mythic+ to keep people engaged with the game.

See it as an extension to the current roster of 8 dungeons.

I have no desire to do Legion M+s anymore, oh well. That would've been too fun I guess.
