I think the writer of this article has fundamentally misunderstood the relationship between the Naaru, Dawnkeep and Revendreth. Z'rali specifically states:
I guess the writer of this article have forgotten our interaction with Z'rali in Sanguine Depths. She clearly stated they "invaded" Ravendreth out of retribution/vengeance bla bla
"Your stoneborn will never find us all and your precious Elune has no power here."
And give this man an upvote.
I think there's this assumption that "emerged" is being used in this article to indicate their creation. I'm assuming that "emerged" here means "it is where the naaru first emerged into the Shadowlands". It was, basically, their doorway. Where they punched through. This would make sense, then, that it's also the place with the highest saturation of Light. It's their beachhead.
The Stonewright has never been a mortal, she was created by Denathrius like Renathal was. There’s no way she could have been a Night Warrior in a previous life
I mean we still hasn't done with Tyrande questlines... she and kael has some similarity.

I think it's safe to assume Elune is to the Naaru and the Light what the Void Lords are to the Old Gods and the Void. Also a safe speculation would be, that just like how the naaru naturally cycle between light and void in their life, perhaps so do Light/Void lords. It could stand to reason that "elune's darkest, most vengeful phase" is her "void" one, and the one we know better is Light. What's more, that has a nice parallel to the phases of the moon, and its dark and light sides. Could Elune have just entered her dark phase, so she was disinterested in benevolently saving the night elves in their darkest hour - but more than happy to answer a vengeful, selfish plea?
I agree with you, Leafstagger.
The Stonewright was likely the first Night Warrior since she is mentioned in 9.1 to be the first mortal soul to become a Venthyr meaning she had to be one of the earliest sinners in existence.
I am not yet fully familiar with Venthir lore, however here some thoughts about Elune:The way I understand it, Elune's Light (Moonlight) is different from Holy Light (Sunlight), as Moonlight is also connected to the Arcane and Nature in Nightelf society.Maybe the connection of these 3 types of magic does suggest, Elune's Light might even be the Light of Creation (While Elune is not necessarily responsible for creation, but at least a top tier goddess connected to it).In that case, Shadow Magic must be the opposite of Creation and be part of the three dark magics (Chaos, Void and Death). Since Nathrezim, Necromancers, Old Gods, Warlocks and in some cases the Legion use Shadow-based magic in at least older Lore and still current game mechanics, this does actually make sense."Shadow Magic is Void Magic" never made sense to me, imo it was just shoehorned into the Cosmic Power graphic, because specifically Old God's Shadow Magic was retconned into Void Magic since Cata.
