I always figured she was lying about Wrathgate, but I still think she's being influenced by the Void. Not overtly, mind you, but it seems like she brought back a piece of it after the suicide attempt. The Void are obsessed with entropy & chaos, and let's face it - that's 100% what Sylvanas is about now. Regardless of what she THINKS her motives are, she's doing exactly what the Void would want her to.
This is the point i'm most interested in going forward. Sylvanas is terrified of ending up in the Void. Now we have Void Elves on the Alliance side more or less lead by Alleria Windrunner. And finally the issue of the dual nature of the Naaru (Light & Void). Even without any old god influence, based on these I could foresee a union of Anti-Void efforts similar to the Argent Crusade vs the Scourge. Film at 11.
Nobbel did a video on this and im in the same camp as him, 'yeah she might have done it but theirs no concrete proof she ordered it', until we have solid proof(likely when we end up dethroning her) I'm not gonna hop on a bandwagon based purely off the speculation of a twitter response.
Urgh. I hate what they did to Kerrigan.I was about to lose my &*!@ when they were going to purify illidan and turn him into a Kerrigan.I'm glad they didn't. I'm fine with how they ended things with him.Sylvanas... I don't like where she is headed. Please don't Kerrigan anymore characters blizz. Just no
Oh boy, another opinion piece.
I always saw Sylvanas as evil. I don't think she ever changed.Though in Cataclysm, she claimed she cared for the Forsaken so much that she would defend Lordaeron in their name at any cost. Just because it's their rightful home and nobody else should have a claim for it. I thought it was noble in a way... cause it was not her home, only her people's. And she would defend it for them despite that. But then later she kept proving that she has little care for the forsaken (or other undead like Koltira) who are not completely aboard with her plans. And then she ultimately decides to sacrifice Undercity, the only home Forsaken have... and she does it in the midst of crisis in her own ranks when some Forsaken doubt that her best intentions are aligned with her people's. Not a very good time to blow up their home just to make a move against the Alliance.Maybe she is consistent... it's just that every time in the past she expressed she cared about the Forsaken or about Lordaeron... she simply lied. And that is really not beneath her after all.So in the end, maybe her character is not butchered. But my dislike for her is still present.Even more so when majority of the Horde leaders go along with what she's doing without resistance. Yeah, they are sometimes grumpy about it... but they don't really care nor really do anything about it. Baine, Saurfang and Lor'Themar are all OK with Burning Teldrassil. Baine is still following her even after Undercity. Saurfang just gave up instead of challenging Sylvanas to mok'gora. Rexxar and Valtrois merely sigh at Sylvanas leaving them behind... And it's funny that they only get uncomfortable with her after she doesn't provide them a ride, instead of them being uncomfortable with something akin to genocide against Night Elves.By trying to pull this story together, they actually degraded the character of every Horde leader except Sylvanas. She could never have done anything she did if the other characters didn't allow her. And for the story to unfold, they had to allow her. So just because Blizzard writers wanted to make the Sylvanas the main threat no matter what, they made characters like Baine incompetent and blind towards the greatest evil acts imaginable. It's gonna be very hard to explain this behavior going forward... except if they simply choose to ignore it, like they always do...
No one reads comments anyway but here i go. How about.. hell no, she did not know about it. It is stupid to think otherwise. Her existence at that point had sole reason. To kill Arthas and get revenge. Why would she let some psycho use randomly her secret card and reveal it without guaranteed success? She is cunning and she plans and Wrathgate would be a bad plan.
