This is possibly the most easily solved problem in the history of Modern WoW. It baffles me that Blizzard hasn't allowed soul ash refunds yet.
Best advice anyone can give is to tell everyone to complain to the WarcraftDevs Twitter account nonstop because of this asinine system. It won't work but at least it'll show something.It honestly blows my mind that this system is turning out as bad as it will.
It's really unfortunate they decided to give like under 2 weeks of lead time on this. I didn't have any stygia or soul ash banked because they said it was going to be all good in 9.1 to get ash. Now, with 8 days to go, I need to farm up 7200 stygia to get a socket on the OFF CHANCE it will work after I re-craft my legendary in 9.1. - and the fact that I have to re-craft my legendary and purchase another over-priced base item off the AH is complete BS. I spent so much gold getting these leggos figured out and now most of them need to be re-crafted. Very annoying.
I dunno why Blizz has to keep going down these convoluted routes with obtuse system on obtuse system.

How have they not scrapped this stupid crafting system and picked say a ring or a neck for everyone to craft a leggo on. Let them swap theirs for free or for a low soul ash cost to new slots and no more worrying about crafting in the wrong spot. I mean this has to be one of the most frustrating things in the game. Besides the crappy torghast you have to run to make them in the first place. Some meaningful decision I made crafting mine on a domination slot. They had to know they were adding this domination armor before launch right? Lets let everyone craft a leggo then well add new gear and have them do it again in a different slot, that'll keep them playing longer. But don't worry they'll add a fix in 9.2 right before the next expac drops in 2025.

I wish Soul Ash was the limiting factor for Legendary crafting. This new system will cost me 237k gold to remake the affected Legendaries on just one character at current prices. It'll be more once it gets closer to launch and the prices get more inflated.
For Warlock, isn't Cinders a better choice over Wilfreds for Destro in Raid?

I am SO GLAD I got too lazy to craft that 3rd Freezing Winds legendary for my Frost mage, cause it would have been on an helmet, and having to do it all over again would have annoy me the f out
I am glad and went with legs for my BoAT. Now I just only have to reroll 3 legendaries instead of 4 (Verdant Infusion, Visions of Unending Growth and Arcanic Pulsar). I have like 12k soul ash saved up so it shouldn't affect me too much - I will upgrade my main healing legendaries to start with. Oh, and my shaman alt who has to reroll both of his legendarys... *sigh*
Imagine having players have to sink gold/mats and time to re-craft the legendary effects they have on items just to move them to different slots when they could just...not do that. This expansion is so tone-deaf besides the PvP reward system maybe.
