So, instead of leveling your alts more efficiently you are now encouraged to not play your alts instead for extended periods of time to build up rested experience. What an absolute garbage change.
The 4set bonus seems to be more of a dungeon focus bonus than a questing one, as you are likely to keep it longer.Overall, these changes seems pretty decent. Now cue the queue of complaining below....
What about the XP gem from BfA jewelcrafting? What about the Offerings to the Raven Mother and other Draenor items that currently add rested XP below level 99?
I'm actually pretty surprised that they chose to not go with stat buffs. I hadn't considered reducing consumption of rested experience, but that also implies some people will log on to a toon after creation, store it in an inn for a week, put on the heirlooms and then go out and play. It sorta cuts out on the notion that a person wants to play with what they just made because getting exp and maintaining the stat buff of the 4set would be easier with the rested experience. That being said, it looks like maintaining the 4 set at an early level is pretty easy anyway for older players who won't be reading quests and going gungho anyway. The 3 set itself looks promising for a lot of classes that have a small windup (healing back to full, arcane mage regen mana, etc...) and the fact it applies to dungeons is all the sweeter, although I don't know how effective leveling via dungeons will be.Overall it's a nice start and I'm glad they admit that they will probably make more changes down the line.
are the heirlooms still going to be weaker then regular gear or not because if so this looks terrible to me
Well, I definitely wouldn't have paid for those bonuses.
I wonder how the heirloom upgrades will work now, will it be level 50 cap immediately or do you need to upgrade every 5-10 levels. Should it be 50 immediately it'll feel really bad for the people who bought all the upgrades for heirlooms.
So what, create a new character, logout for a week and then I can finally use the set bonus to it's full potential?
I relevel alts allllll the time, mostly to change their races around when I'm bored. I don't mind these changes, they're kinda neat tbh.
This seems really good actually, makes the levelling experience much more interesting. That 4-set bonus being extended by 2 minutes when killing enemies could be a very strong buff.Yeah, as it stands I'd definitely prefer this over the XP bonus that they offer now.
waiting for rested xp NICE /s
If they really have made it so you can level to max twice as fast without the heirlooms, then I can completely understand removing the XP bonus on them. It's good to see them thinking of additional uses for the gear other than just BiS gear that scales with your level (which is already a pretty good thing to have). Would be nice to have some visual differences maybe, like enchantment effects on the actual gear. Also maybe things like increased mount speed, daze protection, increased gathering speed of low level mats and other things that while don't directly speed up leveling do help to reduce the areas that begin to suck a bit the third or fourth time you do them.
These bonuses seem pretty damn useless. The out of combat regeneration could potentially be nice though, but it'd have to be a ridiculous amount of regen.
Take this new set and level as a panda. your rested bonus will never end!
It's alright, I wouldn't use them with the exp bouns with the new levelling speed anyway, would be way too fast indeed. I hope necklases will count towards set bonuses (and were not just accidentally ommited), I still can't get my hands over any of the heirloom rings, cannot get myself to return to Draenor or become a fishing champion.
Bonuses seem garbage
Rested experience is cool for someone lvling more then 5 herobut if you have one or two isnt coolfor one of set they can give in the outdoors speed or in the outdoors speed mount (for people less then 50)and put new Heirloom gem on gear
