My pick for my favorite zone is Darkshore after that Shattering. The zone had more of a dynamic to it now then it did before the Shattering. Seeing Malfurion in the center of the zone battling the forces of nature was awesome to see.
I really enjoyed Vashj'ir alot. The questlines are pretty fun, the new underwater experience is awesome and the environment is undoubtedly beautiful! I've completed it three times now and won't mind doing it again.
I would have to tip my hat to Storm Peaks in Wrath, I loved the snowy peaks, dwarven questlines ( /hugs to Brann), lore, and of course Uldum, which was hands down my favorite raid in WotLK.If I had to pick a second though it would be Zangarmarsh in Outlands. Huge mushrooms everywhere, great relaxing place to herb and fish while waiting for SSC. :)
Uldum is my favorite zone with Harrison Jones chain quest.
Zangarmarsh ! Something just drags me into these smooth blue mushrooms...
I like Deepholm the best. The place just feels epic and cool, with the whole otherworldly element to it, and getting to do quests for an elemental lord.
Darkshore: The mood is creepy, there's a feeling of despair, the original worgen were vicious, and a great storyline that crosses the entire zone.
Hyjal was amazing, was great seeing the zone finally from back in the old Warcraft days and going through the lore and changing the zone back, and I look forward to the new changes in the coming patch to the area as well!
Stranglethorn Vale is my favourite. I just love the look of the place and the new quests in Cata with the trolls are awesome :)
Storm Peaks is my favorite zone, hands down. If I had to list all the reasons why, I would be stuck here for at least three hours. Blizzard really outdid themselves there. Before I fall apart out of epicness just by thinking of it, I'm going to give away a few reasons why I just adore this zone above all other places in Azeroth... and beyond.-The music.Music in this zone is beyond compare. Fantastic, sometimes eerie chorus singing along an epic viking-themed instrumental just blows you away as soon as you mount your dragon and fly across the dangerous snow-covered peaks and valleys. As this epic tune flows and you fly towards the mysterious and threatening Ulduar, you know that you are in for an adventure of epic proportions. Speaking of Ulduar...-Ulduar.This is easily the most difficult, but also the most otherworldly epic Raid in WotLK. From the very beginning, this location blows your mind - you and your fellow Raid members board the catapults, destroy hordes of Iron Dwarves and the gigantic Colossi, afterwards fighting the legendary steel-scaled dragon Razorscale, and trought the entire raid, the epicness doesn't stop. It all culminates with a battle of galactic proportions against Algalon the Observer, emissary of the Titans, brought by a failsafe mechanism activated on Loken's death. This is the fight that you can't win, but not only because it's extremely difficult - but also because Algalon is a far superior, immortal being. He doesn't die - he spares Azeroth and leaves. This fight truly makes you feel like a true hero of Azeroth.-The viking theme.I love vikings. Who doesn't? Cold-blooded, but honorable warriors, ready to strike at any time, and always enjoy a good mug of ale. Of course, not all vikings on the Storm Peaks are the cliché-d fantasy dwarf-styled fighters. Here you have the Dark Iron Dwarves, a powerful and mysterious faction, completely different from the dwarves you are commonly used to in WoW. What adds to their, I dare use the nerd word, "awesomeness", is that thay have a billion-feet-tall Iron Colossus, that you have to fight in one of the lore-worthy quests. Then there are the sons of Hodir, huge ice giants which lore has gave you the longest quest chain in the WoW history. All of the amazing 35 quests related to the sons of Hodir are a must-do for any player who is even slightly interested in WoW's amazing storyline. And last, but not least...-The atmosphere.Yes, this is pretty much all of the above statements combined, but how could I not mention this place's fantastic atmosphere and feeling? Imagine it: you are flying across the Terrace of the Makers on your Ironbound Proto Drake, while the epic music plays, and while you ascend towards the dangerous Ulduar, you spot an extremely rare and beautiful Time-Lost Proto Drake, swoop down and fight the legendary Dragon... Blizzard, you have proved to be the most creative game-making company in the world by making Storm Peaks. And this is NOT just mere sweet talk.
Definitely The Barrens such a peacefull zone.. I remember I used to leave my char at some places in Barrens for hours just for the background music.
