Even though I'm Horde for life, the Field Marshal's Aegis always struck me as an outstanding set. I mean, come on, it has eagles for shoulders for cryin' out loud!
Probably the Tier 11 Paladin, it just looks so beastly. Almost as beastly as Duke Nukem, but well, only almost.
As a mage, I have to say, I actually have 3 favorites.. and it's a continual toss up as to which I like more.On one hand, Tier 3 for most classes was absolutely brilliant. A full set of Frostfire Regalia looked awesome.. Not only did you have the glowing gems on the shoulders, but you also had that icy blue/turquoise color that seemed to make your fingertips glow. All around, it was a cool looking set ;) Ultimately, this one probably wins. The Tier 5, Tirisfal Regalia was awesome. I don't care who you are, it's one set that actually makes you really LOOK like the stereotypical mage.Long hood, robes and very subtle with it's graphical accents, it's long been a favorite that I still love. :) (Lets not forget, it was out at the time of the insano-arcane casting time)Now, I know many people will disagree.. but I enjoy the Tier 11 look as well. For the combination of the 2 reasons above... the icy-turquoise look, mixed with the hood.. just causes a mage to stand out. If you're a worgen, the look is actually increased 10-fold and truly makes it one of the most gorgeous sets available for mages.
Tier 4 was my favorite. It was my first Tier. I remember getting the glove token from The Curator in Karazhan. I had already gotten some purples from the raid, but getting a piece tier gear just felt so amazing. To me, it seemed like a rite of passage to finally enter into the raiding world. I never got the whole set, and once my guild moved on to Zul'Aman Tier 4 wasn't really that big a deal, but I wore those gloves all the way until Wrath of the Lich King came out.
Toss up between Bloodfang (rogue T2) and Darkmantle (tier .5) The blood fang was part of my favorite raid which was Blackwing Lair and the first piece I had gotten were my gloves which then had on them "Immune to Disarm" which was totally badass back in the day, but thats been nerfed as well as some of the other items from BWL. However the darkmantle came as a very long questline in order to 'upgrade' my shadowcraft armor. I already had most of the bloodfang pieces by then but I loved the style of the darkmantle, I looked like a TRON rogue. But man that quest line really had you work for it, not only did you have to have the entire shadowcraft set, but you also faced a boss that was even harder than most raid bosses at the time. I really think there needs to be an acheivement for completing the whole t .5 questline, but whatever, I still have both of those sets sitting in my bank to this very day, for the day when I'll wear them again once character customization comes out :D.
Merciless Gladiator's Warrior set is awesome. Absolutely my favorite of all. Looks a bit ... how to say ... DEZTROYA!<3
Shaman T8, it has a nice "elementalish" look that really made me say that's a shaman thing, expecially the shoulders
i think the Cataclysm Harness set for shamans is the best looking gear in game. The reason I think that is because of the magma shoulders and the head, since that shoulders have nice red glow. You feel like a fire boss with that head.
Id have to say the Gronnstalker's (hunter tier 6) was the best, i always raided better knowing i had eyes watching me at all times >_>
Shaman T4 was my personal favorite because of the lightning effects. :)
I have really fond memories of Druid Tier 2 set, the Stormrage Raiment. My guild worked so hard on bosses in BWL back in the days, and seeing the fruit of our labor manifest itself as shiny new armor for my toon was a heart-warming event. Also, the helm from Onyxia – antlers on a night elf? Awesome :)
Priest T6... loved the shoulders. Still have them in my bank and wear them on special occasions!
I liked the Mage, Pally, and DK tier sets this time around.
