Wow brought a big pack of international friends I wouldnt expect to have. Im from Brazil, living here atm, and I play in EU servers since vanilla. Meet good people from Egipt, Russia, Phillipines and a good group of portuguese friends I use to play for 5 years.I missed two trips to Portugal to meet my old guild friends but thanks to facebook we keep on touch, even some of us take a break in WoW. My first kid is about to born and I already warned them... he good kick their asses in WoW pretty soon.
I want to meet Tedde! He is such an amazing guy
Oh, all those friends that i have made in wow. Cannot even count them all. Sadly, most of them live in different countries, so chances of meeting any of those wonderful people is extremely slight, me being a student and not being able to afford any trips. Anyway, that's not the point, the point being that there is not only one or two awesome people that i've got to know in wow. Even after realmjumping and faction changes and whatnot, it's good to know that ya "have friends in high places".Most recent one would be my current guild. I'm not talking about only one person, but several. And how did that friendship come to life? One word.ULDUAR
I met a buddy many, many years back in WoW and he's since stopped playing, but he and I keep in contact outside of the game still. He just got married a month ago and I wish I could have gone. He's just the best people.Met Oxhorn the machinima maker in Seattle after joining his guild on Silver Hand.Met a guildy at Blizzcon this year.A gal I worked with finally started playing WoW after she made fun of me for playing it for so many years and met her future husband while playing. He moved over here and I got to be a bridesmaid. :)
My guild celebrates 6th birthday on 15 Feb and through all these years almost all of my guildmates became my friends although I've met only few of them IRL. There is one siginificant exception to this - few years ago Blood Elf huntress joined our guild and today she is my girlfriend and it's been 2 years since we live together :)
I have an awesome Guild leader, whom I met for a beer in real life.. Together with some other cool guys we do guild run, and run other cool stuff.. while talking on Skype ^^
I met my boyfriend and about 75% of my closest friends through WoW. My SO and I were in the top guild in our server and he has been nothing but support and motivation since the day we met and is now making the move to California. ^-^While I was going through a very rough time in my life, it was hard to fall back upon most friends (who lived next to me, btw), but those I met through WoW were always there no matter where and what time zone, calling me when I was held in a hospital, sending edible arrangements, and still giving me the encouragement I needed to survive here in the real world.I've also met quite a few friends from servers/guilds at Blizzcon and at Guild Meetings (Vegas!), and I'm hoping to meet up with more of the people I have established deep bonds with!
I still talk to and play with my good buddy Aperson I met on Feathermoon back in 2005 when I first started. While we live far apart, some time this year, I will fly up and have a beer with him.I've made many friends on World of Warcraft. Out of the fifty-ish people I have met in-game, I have only met two outside of the game.It is always exciting to see the face behind the character and I look forward to meeting one of my longest in-game friends soon.
Met one of my closest friends and his wife on WoW, way back in vanilla. We still play, though we often take (usually staggered, sadly) breaks, too. We've met already, though, for Thanksgiving of 2012. His wife and brother both play WoW, as well, and I've met them, as well. Even let the first mentioned friend's wife stay at my place as she was driving cross-country. Stayed at his brother's house, once, too, when I was in Florida. We're all a pretty tight-knit group, as I've even gotten to know his brother's friends to the point I feel like I know them, over Skype. When I was young, I also met IRL WoW friends from Seattle. I was... 16? Stayed with some WoW friends from WA state for a couple weeks. Had an awesome time with them, too.I'd like to say I've met my future wife thanks to WoW (though actually through WoW groups on Facebook), but there's nothing set in stone yet. :D
Great friend that I met on my old server and moved to another with me and played heaps together! Hope to meet more like him
I met a couple from Singapore who helped me out a lot during the time when WoW was released first. But I sure as hell don't need one of those horrible MTV shows to meet with someone I met online. I hope being frank doesn't affect my chance to win, free speech and all. :P
Couple of months ago I met a really nice Dreanei Shammie while trying to beat Garrosh into the dirt :) Been leveling with him for the last couple of months now, doing transmogs run and playing hearthstone together. Never met him but had loads and loads of fun just playing and having a good time! Big shout out to Zues (Bluue) for being awesome!
I've met many people in my guild. And I've made new friendships at the gates while I'm duelling with others. Also recruited my friends to the game, so they can make new friendships in game.. :)
I met my best friend in an RP guild I made years ago. It was horrible and OC-ridden, but I made a great friend. Through him, I met my current partner; she and I met by debating on the many intricacies of undeath (Do they have souls? Can they wield the Light?) and cemented our bond with a lot of old-school transmog raids. We're a happy, geeky, introverted couple all around =3
Met two of my, as of today best friends. It all started back in TBC when I happend to yell something in my language straight out. The two approached along with yet another of my to be friend. We became good friends over a stupid thing and as of today we have been friends since 8-10 years back, we're all from the same country and don't live far from eachother! It's funny how you can meet people that you will befriend for the rest of your life over such a simple thing on a game :)
My first guild leader and I are still friends, despite me having left the server and switch to Horde YEARS ago. We're practically besties, and are constantly there for each other when we need it, though it has to be online. She lives in Canada and I live in the US. But she's been there for me since I was 17, and now at 24, she's gotten to see me get married and have kids. It's pretty awesome. Without Warcraft, we would have never been able to become friends.
Not long after I started playing I found a guild, since then we already met a few times with most of them.
I haven´t met anyone online yet, but I would like to win the mounts :)
So as a Death Knight, I have very little choices between flying mounts, so this one guy came up on trade chat "ICC 10MH ACHIEVEMENT RUN!" and the guy turned out to be very nice and we both obtained our achievement mounts! We used to talk allot but ever since my realm change and his problems, weve havent talked much D: but ive gotten others along the way, and now im friends with Ysiria and Bandaid as we speak of lore and progression :D
Still friends with the other priest in my guild who i healed with back in wrath, she doesnt play anymore but we still speak daily ^_^
