I had an awesome best friend back in primary school. We made our own gamebooks, watched Sailormoon and Power Rangers at each other's houses, effectively besties as besties can get. However we lost contact soon after I moved to another state. While honestly we did see each other again on Facebook rather than WoW, it was in WoW that we reconnected fully, leveling and farming together. We eventually met each other IRL on his wedding day, and it was awesome. Glad he still hasn't got serious wife aggro. After 20 years being separated, it was WoW that sustained and breathed new life into our friendship.
Met a nice tank in my guild more then half year ago. Found out he was from my country, so we started talking, and now we actually work together outside the guild as business colleagues.
This post was from a user who has deleted their account.
During the beginning of WotLK, I had only one friend playing WoW. Shortly after we hit level 60, however, I had met up with a guy named Brian from a guild named Dark Dynasty. We had grouped with him and did some questing, and eventually the guy became friends with me. Shortly after this, he invited me and my friend to his guild, where we were greeted with lots of friendly hello's. As time went on, and we raided through all of WotLK's raids, I became very close with many of them, including the GM, her husband, and all four of the other founders. We raided together and still do raid together, and the 9 of us have remained great, close friends for the past 6 years! That's right! 6 years later and some of the best friendships I have ever made are still going strong in the World of Warcraft!
My guildmaster since WotLK is allways speaking about us meeting up, but economy allways seems to get in the way since i'm in Denmark and he is in Belgium - Tough luck. :)Funny idea this concept, allthough i would prefer it to be guildmeeting oriented rather than this slightly "romantic" undertone.
I haven't had the opportunity to meet any of my current guildies (other than the one I live with) mainly due to location. They're a great bunch of people and probably the only reason I've enjoyed playing so much the last 2 years, but sadly they live 4000+ km away and I don't really feel like spending a few thousand bucks just to meet them. Anyway, no one cares about my story, I just want some loots.
lovely, it's a great idea and i'll go say it for sure :) i was living in cuba and now moved to the us just wanting to meet my guildmates and other wow friends :) let me better cross my fingers :) but yeah, it'll happen for sure :)
I've met a lot of wonderful people during my journeys in Azeroth but one in particular has been my best friend back 1-2 years ago and we've shared such awesome moments, he's from the UK and i'm from Italy, at first we started raiding togheter in Dragon Soul and then we became really good friends, now we both moved on different servers not because we're not friends anymore but because our guild got disbanded and we went in different servers but that didn't change much, we're still good friends and i trust him a lot i would love to share a cold beer and some cookies with him!
I have met some awesome folks in game through guild alliances and such. As our server has declined, many of them joined our guild so I get to harass them even more often, especially with RealID now.
I've met a few people from an old guild on Argent Dawn, one of which turned out to live near me. We've gone out for drinks quite a few times and play cards on occasion.
This better not cut into my Ridiculousness time.
Once I met a guy while levling, and we have been friends in game ever since :)
My first big guild leader was a friend of mine. He met a girl from the opposite site of the country that joined our guild later on. They have since been married a few years now. Lucky bastard. Since then, I'm the last one still playing, but there is a mage that was still playing until recently. She and I have been friends a long time now. I even play with her brother and sister-in-law since they are on the same server. Like most situations, she's on the complete opposite side of the country; me in Southern California and her up by Maine. She was always jealous of the nice California coastal weather. She has loathed her local areas for years and wanted to move to California for a long time. I probably would have made it happen, too, but 5 years ago I was suffering from a tumor growing inside my spinal cord at the neck. I haven't been able to work or do much of anything since. My gaming isn't too great anymore, either. PVP is useless without the old finger dexterity in reaction time. I still love the game, though. I even go to the big Blizzard release events when they have them. Maybe, eventually, she'll come out here for a big release event and she can geek-out like she always wanted to.
I only sign up to meet Nev. He's so cute!
met first starting out playing season 10 i beleve, still friends in real life. My healer)
I met a good friend on WoW a while back and found out we were both in the Military. After a few years of playing together we ended up being posted not only to the same base but to the same Squadron. We are now working together in the same office and have our weekly "Geek out" sessions at his place. He also played on a horrible laptop that had a hard time handling WoW at the lowest setting. But I recently purchased a new Laptop so I gave him my old one and he can play on MEDIUM settings and has never been happier!
I met my now husband through Wow, he was new to pve and I was our guilds healer so I kept having to remind him of things; we hadn't known each other in game for long when we decided to meet up, but we clicked straight away. I also met my best friend through wow, she's a photographer and she photographed our wedding for us. We're all still really close even though she doesn't play as much any more. I know others who have met and even married through wow in other guilds. I can't imagine what I'd be doing now if we hadn't met :)
Well I was quite lucky in this department; I actually am in an international guild -3 years and counting- and thanks to my Erasmus exchange program I got to meet majority of our raiders that lived around this city last year. It was a blast seeing the people I've been spending majority of my time online in real life, some of whom I consider among my best friends, and such a chance would be most welcome by a lot of people I've known throughout my time among fellow mmorpg'ers.
When I first started playing, I was taking my Night Elf Hunter through Elwynn forest doing some questing. There was this low level horde running around, and myself plus two others decided to gang up on her (sorry random hordie!) After we got bored, we started talking and found we got along really well. All three of us kept in touch in the game, which was rather difficult since one of the players couldn't get a full account yet and we had to keep up on his toon names through the trial accts. he set up. Today, I still talk to one of them (a Human Paladin) and we've been keeping in touch for the last six years. He recently returned after a brief haitus, so I had to get him up to speed a bit :) The other hunter no longer plays, and I haven't talked to her in years.
I started playing wow corrupted by colleague. Together we corrupt another coworker. Together we founded a ghilda. Now our guild has over 70 active player online. We have many hours playing together. Occasionally we meet with members of the guild in the country and less with outsiders. Wow made these connections to be closer than if we were relative. We know each other and help us in real life!
