Met quite a few people in wow over the years. Some I still talk to, even visit out of game(plus babysit for them). Some unfortunately are in different countries and contact via game or Facebook has to do.
I started playing WOW with some of my good friends. We ended up running a very successful guild through Vanilla, and from that we made some awesome friends. For years even after the guild dissolved we would still all get together for dinner or a fun outing with there being about 20 of us. The guild I am in now and have been in for quite some time has get together's every now and then. I have even had people stay with me over the holidays because they cannot travel home to their families. Over 2 years ago now I was talking to one of my guildmates, a fellow raid healer. I had just broken up with the woman I was dating and she had just broken up with the guy she had been dating. We started up a conversation about how and why our ex's sucked and that ended up turning into a relationship. Her and I have been together for almost 2 years and live here in Texas with me. Wow has been good to me with the people I have had the pleasure to meet in RL.
I've met an incredible number of people though WoW and many of them I still keep in contact with today even though many of them have moved on from the game. Way back when I started playing in 2005, I ended up in a casual guild with a bunch of active players. We did MC, ventured into BWL, and ran tons of Strat Dead and Scholomance runs together and became good pals. Turns out that a rogue in that guild (along with a number of other players) who became a really good friend lived about 4 hours away from me and my then-boyfriend. So we drove up and visited and it was really fun and cool. I still visit that rogue and his priest fiance whenever I'm in that area.Fast forward to late 2006, and that first guild falls apart, and I'm left searching for a new home. I applied to a higher end raiding guild, but they needed some time to sort through candidates. Joined a smaller raid guild in the meantime, and about a week after the release of The Burning Crusade, I get an in game whisper asking if I want to interview for my first choice guild, so of course I jump at it. I got accepted, and was thrilled, but little did I know just how much that guild and those people would come to mean to me over the next 7 years (and counting)! There are so many of those guildies I haven't met yet, and would dearly love to; however, in 2009, I met a very large portion of my guild and it was one of the best experiences of my life. A paladin in my guild and I had developed a bit of a relationship through the game and ventrilo, and in late 2009, I made the trip from Canada to New York to meet and stay with him for a few weeks. It was great, we got along better than hoped, and during my stay, we took a trip over to New Jersey for a guild BBQ which involved about 11 of us including our GuildMaster. The following summer, I again took the trip to NY and we again had a guild reunion BBQ. I haven't been able to get back since, but we all keep in touch via Facebook, Battle.Net, and the occasional phone call. They've been there for me through thick and thin, ups and downs, and I wouldn't trade them for all the "real" (ie: local) friends in the world!
I think my whole guild counts. We're a small guild, but also laid back and fun (but we also manage to go raiding, too). I joined because one of my real-life friends belonged, and the rest is history.
I didn't find only some friends, I find a lot of friends from WoW. Also, I met with some of them in real life also. But I first speak with my buddy in a dungeon. :D
MY hunter, Yeoz on Mok'nathal, was cruising around Stormwind when a character named Lexona was stripping for gold in one of the inns. I was fairly new to the game and this sounded interesting so I found her and made it rain lol. From that day on, we became good friends, questing buds, and facebook friends. She is one cool canadian. lol.
commenting just for the priceHowever, I met a lot of them, from highschool it was on daily basis and now at uni I met few skilled players shich i just know by the name from the game...interesting feelingz.
Back in Burning Crusade, I was still super slow at leveling. I had spent about .. 20 levels or more in the Ghostlands trying to finish WANTED: Knucklerot and Luzran (Wanted: Knucklerot and Luzran); I had a member of Dark Sun Army offer to give me something I had never thought of having in WoW, online friends. See, I started WoW as a family deal. I played with my brother, my father, and my grandmother on the server Runetotem. I had heard of "guilds" and figured it was a part of the game I didn't feel was a necessary part of my personal game-play. But once Burning Crusade came out, I had wandered onto a different server, Silver Hand. I had no family or friends on that server, but I was enjoying the game. When I was invited to Dark Sun Army, I thought.. well, why not? I can give this guild thing a chance. Ever since that day, I have had a second family to go to. When I can't reach any of my "IRL" friends, I can jump online, and at least one of my guildies is on.From my guild family, I have made at least 3 personal IRL friends. It started with a conversation about me moving back to my hometown. One of my guildies was thinking of moving out here to the west coast, and since I was thinking of moving, I blurted out, "We should move in together."So, we had a guild get together at one of our other guildies houses. I met my guild leader, and a couple officers that day. She was one of those officers. We talked about a lot, and decided it would actually be a plan to put into motion.So.. I went searching for apartments, and I found one that was affordable and allowed my two cats. She moved out, and we had the apartment for a little while to just us two. And then her lover (who she met through WoW, and is also our guild leader) moved out to join us. Not long after that, they were married. The three of us lived together for about 2 years. And in that time I made a really good friend out of one other guildy, and we can talk about ANYTHING, anything at all. To this day, my guild leaders are still married and are happily expecting. I believe that we've all become lifelong friends. We wouldn't have met, had it not been for WoW, and the day I went.. "Silver Hand sounds like a good name for a realm to try out."So thank you, Blizzard. You may have changed the game in good ways and bad since it first came out, but no matter what happens, you introduced me to some people I will never forget. Thank you.
This is a dumb contest .

One of my RL friends got me in to WoW but I guess that doesn't count. I have made many friends in game though including the current GM of my guild who I often spend hours discussing what's right and wrong with WoW as well as the world in general. We started a 'quick chat' at about 10pm one night and before either of us knew it, it was 2am.
One of my best memories of friends i met in game is definetly a dutch player in my guild, that's really awesome, he joined us with some friends from a server transfer, and he decided to stay when they left shortly after, and we actually met irl last november, when he flew in to visit me in sweden for a few weeks, and we had a blast, so this summer i'm going to Holland for some epic fun aswell :)
I've met alot of great people onn wow.But one was the most exiting adventure where he would help me throughout my adventures onn wow and....We still talk to each other today. We still help eachother today in many dungeons and raids.
Friendships? I've got entire Wow families! I have several adopted kids and sisters, it's awesome! We made our own guild to raid together, achievement runs, quest and just have a blast together. It's what makes this game so much fun for me, THIS interaction!
I met the orc who would be my husband in the middle of July in late classic/early BC. He and two of his guildmates were celebrating a sort of "Christmas in July" (meaning they had an excess of snowballs laying around), and were decked out in Winter's Veil outfits (with Leper Gnome wand costumes for his "elf helpers") and full-on assaulting anyone who came near the old Orgrimmar bank/mailbox (RIP Orgrimmar bank roof) with stacks and stacks of snowballs. There I was, guildless, maybe level 45, posting auctions and checking my mail for the day. I was still switching my gear over from leather to mail, so I was pinching every penny (and trying to get some cash after that pricey level 40 mount) and selling basically everything not nailed down.I remember this distinctly because I was wearing a pair of Lord's Legguards, and the very first snowball launched by the strange random orc dressed as Greatfather Winter hit my troll square in the ass. I did what any sensible hunter would do; I fled. I panicked, fatfingered my hotkey and promptly Feigned Death. Since playing possum clearly wasn't working, I threw myself on their tender mercies. I'm still in the guild, and five years ago I moved across the country from Delaware to California to be with the weird orc who "in the words of Albert Schweitzer, 'I fancy you'."d me with a hail of snowballs.
I've met a few people in wow but no one as amazing and wonderful as the woman I married. We have been married for 1 1/2 years and on January 31, 2014 our 1st child, beautiful baby girl, graced us with her presence. Wouldn't change anything in the world!
I've met several people over my years of playing WoW, but my guildies are the ones that I would love to meet. I met my guildmaster through her son, who I would kill time with in Goldshire just dueling and chatting it up. When I met his mom, I joined her guild and supported our wonderful guildies, and now, several years later, we raid Siege of Orgrimmar together. Not only the wonderful family of my guildmaster, but now my raid team, some are as close as the next state over, some are as far as across the world, and I would gladly meet up with any of them and get food.
I asked in tradechat who liked juice and I made 3 friends with that. Only in wow, haha.
mmm i never met anyone of my WoW's friends IRL but, at least for 4-5 of our guild members, we know each other since almost 2 years so we created kind a great link between us and we're really proud of that.Indeed i don't know if i'd like to join a show like that...i mean...so many people looking at you xD
