I mean, we COULD get all worked up about a video game and what aesthetic choices there are for characters and rant and rave.. Or.. Just hear me out on this maybe .. just MAYBE .. We could just chill out since this IS a game with Disney princess looking cows, bipedal dogos, and garden gnomes that have always looked like walking pixar cutesy characters since classic.. It's not THAT serious folks...
Yep. People being invested and caring about hobbies sounds quite ridiculous. Imagine even more preposterous stuff, like people caring about some people talking on tv, or some fancy lads running around a ball on a stadium.

thats WHAT? NO PURTPLE/PINK EYES?
That is such a good point, they make them black for no reason but dont give them pink or purple eyes. Blizz needs to stop pandering and realise that even if these species where wide spread enough to have different races, which they arent, they are not human and would not evolve like we would.
Make a race that can only be black (have dark brown skin) then. The long time stand in for that was the Trolls and uh, that's a pretty ooph look these days. This skintone thing is only an issue if you make it one, imagine an inverse universe where, for the longest time, only humans could look kind-of pale skinned, and the rest of the humanoid races all had dark skin, you probably wouldn't care much if the skin tones were added.
Personally, these gnomes here are the only race I'm possibly going to change my skin tone to a darker color for, I think they look cute.

Trolls and nelfs where the standins for black people. But you are missing the point, this is a fantasy game with limited character selection its goal has never and should not be to allow you to make a character that you feel looks best like you, it should be to allow you to make a character that you like and makes sense in the world. Black gnomes and dwarves make no sense because gnomergon gnomes and ironforge dwarf are singular ethnicitys, not multi racial societies.

They did not evolve from their environments. They came from rocks and metals. The materials used translated to skin colors when they became flesh from corruptive BS. Now stop whining you rotten jars of mayonnaise.

Not much new customization for gnomes... but I guess they were mostly perfect already.
