Mr Pinchy!
Back in the day before naxx came out I just joined a guild on my server that just started BWL. I wasnt well geared but they took me on a test run to Ony anywho. I was capable of keeping up with a good chunck of their dps'ers but it required work (of course). Ony goes down first try (cause these guys had her on farm) and out pops my T2 helm... all the rogues had it already so even though i was only there as a test subject it went straight to me. i couldnt help but do alittle dance.as a side note.... stay away from the tail! stay out of the fire! spread out! :D >.> the good old days
After the release of patch 2.4.0, "Fury of the Sunwell", I headed to Sunwell Isle to view the new content. I quickly found a group for the new 5-man instance Magisters' Terrace. My group and I quickly destroyed Kael'thas, or at least what was left of him from Tempest Keep. Being the newest instance, and with a look into blood elf architecture and culture, we decided to do it again. On our third run through the instance, Kael'thas dropped Phoenix Hatchling. I luckily won the roll and am now the proud owner of one of the greatest and most amazing pets in the game. I am constantly getting tells of how cool it looks and where I got it from. All my friends are green with envy, jealous that it never drops no matter how many times they defeat Kael. I have not stepped foot into Magisters' Terrace since then.
I've always had a soft spot for Stratholme for some reason and ever since I was able to do so, I've soloed it several times a week. For some reason I felt driven to gather the entire Postmaster set, the dancing flute, etc... The only thing that I hadn't had was the Baron's Mount. I made it my mission to run that instance over and over until I finally got the mount. It honestly had to have been several months and thousands of runs but finally, several hours past midnight and after several sleepy faceplants into the keyboard, I dropped Baron Rivendare when low and behold...the mount finally dropped. The feeling of satisfaction that I got from grinding and grinding away at that place and finally seeing the mount drop was indescribable.
My mage helped my guild finally kill Nefarian in original WoW, and I upgraded my staff from Argent Crusader to Staff of the Shadow Flame. After the raid, I went to Ironforge and showed off the first Staff of the Shadow Flame on the realm, and received plenty of messages about it.
My first pants !
The Zul Farrak drop from day1 entry. Probably my most "epic" drop was from running Zul'Farrak. It was on my (then) lvl 47 Tauren Shaman that was DPSing for the first time. I got the Hand of Antu'sul on my first try I was quite happy. Very lucky also cause that was the only run I was gonna do that day too. Very epic at the time for me. Also kept that weapon for another two levels was useful.
