My most memorable moment happened over 3 and a half years ago, when I first started playing WoW. My first character was a hunter, and one of the reason that got me to play this game was the versatile soloing aspect that the hunter class gave which was impossible to do so on any other mmorpg at the time.It all started in a hunt for a pet. My cousin and I heard of this rare pet known as The Rake, a lion known for it's great speed before it was nerfed. So we decided to head for Mulgore and pay this rare a visit. Keep in mind that I have never ventured beyond the Teldrassil, let alone to a Horde territory in a PvP server. The trek to Mulgore was a hell of an experience for both our level 10 hunters.By following the location on some random map we found on google, we've arrived at the beast's supposed location/spawn. It was quite heart-pounding looking for a pet in an opposing faction's territory, let alone taming one amidst all the Horde questing. I have never PvP'd before so it also added to the anticipation. We try to avoid any Horde we see at a distance. We kept our eyes glued to the radar with Track Beast being up. Back then I wasn't too familiar about a /target macro, nevertheless spamming it. As 30 minutes have gone by, the word "The Rake" flashed on my radar as I was mousing over every dot in it. It was the most happiest moment of my early WoW gaming. To be honest, I was very satisfied on just finding the pet.Since I was the one who spotted it on the radar, my cousin gave me the honor of taming it first. And he wandered off somewhere. I paused for a sec, trying to figure out where I place the Tame skill button. The minute I found it, I paused yet again thinking to myself that I am about to tame one of the rarest pet. As I begin to tame, a level 16 Tauren Hunter out of nowhere jumped me. Not knowing what to do then, my first reaction was to run the minute I saw my life went down rapidly. As I was being chased by the Tauren hunt, I told my cousin what happened. He tried to engage him but he was abit too strong. So he ended up running, as well. He finally stopped following us, and ran back towards the location of The Rake. We healed up, and said, "You know what, let's go back." We figured he wanted it as a pet, and there was no way in hell that my first few days of WoW will be spent camping a beast in an unfamiliar and unfriendly territory. So we headed back, and to our surprise he hasn't tamed it yet. Then he begins to tame... What did we do? We double teamed his ass as he was in the process of channeling. He didn't even try to cancel it. So it was a race between us killing him and him taming The Rake. And we killed him before he can tame. How close was he to taming it? Only he knows. All I know is that I tamed The Rake on top of his corpse. And it was very gratifying. Correction, THAT was the most happiest moment of my early WoW gaming. I will never forget that moment for that was the moment when it made me feel what it's really like to be a hunter, how it really feels to earn something of great value, and thought me an important PvP lesson: and that is to always get the first jump on others. =]
ScholomanceThat day, i was just walking around Stormwind being bored and i was reading the guildchat. They said that going too Scholomance would be a cool idea. But they only needed a healer... I'm a priest so i whispered him. Then i got summoned too the stone infront of the dungeon. I tought: "Woah, let's slaughter some undeads (evil laugh)"Then we entered the dungeon killing some mobs and dancing around them.. i saw the zombie room (at the end) and i said: "yey, i love these zombies, it let me feel i'm in Deadrising." i pulled the zombies for fun and ran in circles outside. So we cleared all the zombies inside and all of a sudden... i saw a purple icon popping up. I saw the item and "OMFGWTFBBQZOMGROFLZORCOPTER?" IT'S THE SKULLFLAME SHIELD ! THE AWESOMEST SHIELD OF THE WHOLE WORLD OF WARCRAFT!11 :O I was #%^@&*! happy and spammed the guild AND party chat with loads of craptalk. Even before i rolled, lol. So i pressed the greed button and the rest of the groupmembers did the same. And guess what? I WON! :DItem: Skullflame Shield best looking shield ever >:]Proof: Click HereXéon
Owned? Well me want some of that right there. :P
Running out of epics, I would have to say a big epic feeling lately was when we was attempting 5 green dragon heroic oculus for the achievement and failed multiple times then somehow I got on a good kiting streak and nearly solo'd it. It was only me from 78% to dead.
I have to say the most epic loot I have ever gotten came from hours of farming 2v2s. We'd hit 1990's over and over and never pass 2000- and one game we finally hit 2003 and bought our Vengeful Gladiators Shoulder's.
The most Epic loot item I've ever gotten was my Romantic Picnic Basket! It was my first time doing the Valentines day event, and the first chubby guy I gave a Valentines card to gave me this basket. Then a good 10 minutes after I got another... and another. I ended up selling the boxes they were in for 1k gold each, and had around 7, so each of my alts and close friends got one! : ) What a great Valentines present!
It was pre-tbc. we were grinding nefarian weeks after weeks for about 3½ month. and i finally got dkp for both the shaman t2 chest and the lokamir. i was thrilled, each time we down him. Then one night we were grinding him as usual and then at 15% of his hp. i disconnected. next day when i came online. i saw on the forum that both my chest and my weapon dropped... I was so %^&*ed i rerolled to my arms dps warrior. We down him again and then Ash'kandi dropped. For some reason they most have felt pity for me. but they gave me the sword without asking any questions. nobody complained. and best of all. it was free of charge no dkp used. This was probally the most epic 2 weeks of my wow-life. :D(That my warrior got hacked is another story)Edit: Or when i found my Swift Spectral Tiger mount card. danced like a troll on ecstasy ! :D
Hours and hours and hours of farming Firefly's in Zangarmarsh. A 1 in 2000ish chance of it dropping. When I was bored from level grinding, I'd trek out to Zangarmarsh and begin my circuit along the northern edge of the map. It got so tedious and tiring at times, killing them and auto looting, only to see the same things over and over. After 300g in grey drops, 3000 kills, 4 blues, countless greens, and after nearly giving up completely, late one night when I was about ready to go to bed, it dropped. I nearly missed it, being white in color, I typically only see unidentified plant parts drop all the time. I did a double take and literally jumped out of my chair. Needless to say, I was happy I finally got my cute little Firefly, I didn't manage to make it to bed till a few hours later after that :)
when i got my mr. pinchy!

Its not exactly a drop, but my most epic item moment came from winning a comic contest online, Tyrael's Hilt. I won it in August and there hasn't been a day yet that I haven't had him out.I've collected over 60 non combat pets and Mini Tyrael is still the crown of my collection, and most likely will be until I eventually quit playing WoW.
