I didn't expect to be able to solo Hivemind this quickly after Il'gynoth. Thought I would get stuck grinding my Heart of Azeroth for another few weeks!
I managed to get the bosses down to 20%. My solution for pushing the last DPS was to keep a lot of the trash alive. The boss encounter itself will only get dangerous (damage taken wise) towards the end. With the Aqir Swarmkeeper
add up they would constantly grant the smaller adds a 50% attack speed increase (Enraging Toxin
). This lead to me being hit A LOT.
And how was this helpful?
Because of an old mechanic still present from Vanilla WoW, the 50% attack speed increase from parried attacks. This lead to my auto hit being 23M of the total damage done through the encounter. I pretty much did 2 auto hits a second (if not more).
This along with Avenger's Shield
hitting both the bosses, I was able to get them down before the berserk kicks in at 15 minutes
I, however, only had 9 minutes of DPSing the boss since 6 minutes are spent in the wrong hivemind (all mobs receive 99% damage reduction (Shadow Veil
Survival wise I had the Trajectory Analysis
trinket from Mechagon (adds 27% dodge) as well as Last Defender
, and 3x Bulwark of Light
Another important trait is the Soaring Shield
. I had 3x of these to give me about 1.5k mastery to help with magic defense against the Aqir Darter
. The flying adds did by far the most damage!
Total HPS were about 200k at the end of the encounter.
Tbh, I could have performed a bit better with my interrupts, but at least I managed the boss!
