This was actually more difficult than I had anticipated after reading some comments. We were a group of 870-875s, and kept a decent pace. Though we died backstage after Opera because we grabbed too many adds and failed to interrupt, and therefore didn't make it. In case we didn't die it would still have been really tight though. We normally do Mythic+10 every week etc, so this was actually surprisingly difficult.
What's with the speed run? Does Blizzard not realise that speed runs simply aren't fun for the vast majority of players? Do they not realise that restricting players in such a way leads to them not seeing content and not having fun, thus potentially leaving the game? Do they not realise that of all the loot in Kara, that final boss held 50% of the useful items? Do they not realise that adding speed runs to things just increases the risk of trolling or a player leaving if you're 15 seconds behind? With so much done right in Legion I'm amazed that Blizzard is still making the same old mistakes from years ago. I'd be fine if it was just the mount that required the speed run (similar to the bear in ZA, or CoT), but to restrict an entire boss this way is just silly. Keep the speed run sure but they should still allow players who don't beat the timer to summon the final boss, just with no chance of the mount. I was really looking forward to the new Kara, as the old one was my favourite raid, but things like this just sour the experience.
What if someone who is fresh goes in the dungeon, then invites 4 people who are already saved? Could the fresh person summon Nightbane for everyone else?
Any comments on the drop of the actual mount? Since that's what is most interesting on the loot table, is it 20% per person, or is it guaranteed to drop for someone? Meaning 5 speed runs with your friends yields all of you getting mounts.
so i have loot this mount yesterday, with party of random guys 870, there was retry-pal, fury-war, blood-DK, mm-hunter and holy-priest(me), the last fragmen we loot with +4 minets on timer- u can't use Soul Fragments untill u are in fight- u no need man with fresh CD - Soul Fragments are usable every time u reset instance- the buff Medivh's Echo not even must be stucked on every member of party - i'st like visualization of timer so u know how much time u have, also it stay throw the death
Did this last night and it was good fun.As with most things in WoW, this will be tough to complete and a bit exclusive at first but will get easier and more accessible as time goes on. Right now it's a good challenge without being too tough I think.
So, Does one need to click all? (same person)Or do all need to press them at same, or just someone?Know peps talked bout something like that on beta, anyone that can confirm?
after reading all that is required and all the details, on a 5-man raid just released.....yes impressive, however imo information was leaked to them by a insider, or someone has a seriously good hacking data mining program i seriously doubt went entering kara and seeing/hearing "The strange chill of a dark presence winds through the air." they did not know before hand there was a hidden timer along with location of items, and that they were actually needed for something....along with everything elsesorry, not saying they weren't capable, but it stinks, just like the jelly fish mount miraculous steps discovery, and even more on a new 5-man raid two days old.
So any news if you can do the even if you cleared kara already?
I know that there are NPC's that will see through stealth but is the possibility of a stealth group an option to narrow time? I would assume this was thought of and there's a counter to this but even the possibility to skip 1 / 2 packs of mobs would definitely reduce time.
Does everyone have to get the buff or can a rogue go grab them?
Some info about the lockout questions. We cleared the whole dungeon and couldn't reset it but after the daily reset (9am in eu) we were able to start again and try the nightbane run. From that point you are able to reset it with a single dungeon reset as many times you want.Timer starts when you open the door.Took us 6-7 tries to summon nightbane,3 tries to kill him with our 865-875 team. The boss fight is really short , about 3-4 mins, from our experience you need only a well geared tank and healer for it, at least it wrecked my bdk in p3 2 times.About the fragment questions, you need to be in a mid range (~20y to get the medivh buff) dunno if its required for everyone to have it, though it persist through death.Hope it helps.
You can do this even if you've cleared Kara already, you can reset the dungeon which also means that if you fail, you can reset the dungeon and try again and again until you get it. Only one person needs to get the Medivh buff, but that one person needs to be the one to interact with Medivh. There seems to be a max range on the buff you get for clicking the crystals, maybe 40 yards. If you're too far from the crystal when it's clicked then you wont get the buff stack for that crystal. It can be a good idea to designate one person to click them, or make it a point to group up next to it before you click it. This fight is crazy healing intense, it took my group a handful of wipes before we got him.
It feels a little overtuned, but this will probably be way easier by the end of the xpac with gear.
Pretty annoying that this is not 100% drop when you are soloing the dungeon...
