Maybe the hungering void of death can... stop hungering. Like, it gets full. Maybe Sylvanas's goal is to avoid going back to the abyss by filling it up so it doesn't have room for her. (Joking, but kinda half serious.)
Great read! Hadn't considered the Lich Queen route for Sylvanas. Makes sense. She's have to kill Bolvar or something to take over though. Probably something with her deal with Azshara.I thought N'zoth would be the big baddie going forward but it's gonna be Syl for a while. Great character, bad warchief. Glad she's gone from that post. Guessing Baine will take over, I'm okay with that. Haven't had a Tauren WC yet. Shadowlands seems imminent - question is: patch 8.3 or the next expansion? We'll know in just over a month.
Interestingly, that giant hood on Calia's datamined model, is missing on the Calia model we see in the game. Maybe 8.3 has her being crowned as Queen of the Forsaken and Lordaeron.
Following is a real transcription of the entire loyalist scene.Nathanos: As do I Dark Lady, but when the time comes there can be no hesitation.Sylvanas: There won’t be. Safe journey, Nathanos.Nathanos: Safe journey, my love.Sylvanas: Ah champion, I wasn’t certain you made it out of Orgrimmar. If the traitors knew of your service to me, they’d have put you in irons…or worse. Saurfang’s ill-considered challenge may have ended the war prematurely, but it doesn’t matter now. Countless souls have been fed to the hungering darkness. Sylvanas: Though I cared nothing for the living, I did pity the Forsaken. For the great injustice that made them what they are. I understand the cruelty of fate better than anyone. But despite all I taught them, they stubbornly clung to hope. To life. They will learn the truth, along with all the rest.My bargain with Azshara will yet bear fruit. The armies of Azeroth will fight her master, and he will line their streets with corpses. In the end, he too will serve Death. But enough reflection. There are preparations to be made. Sylvanas: Nothing lasts. When next you see me, you will understand. After the little mini-not-really-a-cinematic and she disappears into the trees southeast towards the Thalassians (from Windrunner Spire where you meet her) she says just via chat bubble the following: Sylvanas: Fate approaches, Champion. Be ready.
Note that she's full of it. She says "If the traitors knew of your service to me, they’d have put you in irons…or worse." Eitrigg DID know because you beat the tar out of him and dragged him to Nathanos, who was supposedly going to kill him, I thought, but did not. Eitrigg forgives you when you talk to him in Orgrimmar. She is purely psychotic.

Would it surprise anyone that Nathanos and Sylvanas had a child together. When on her visits to his farm at night to check on him. yes I play both sides, so i do get both sides of the story. Yes I like Sylvanas, I felt sorry for her for what was done to her, but i don't like what she has become so no i did not follow her. Just remember it is my thought on this child not anyone elses. just something to think about.
At this point "F" it. I'm rooting for her to win. And she will.
“Lich Queen” ....... What a joke.
I'm adding this in on the speculative bit of this post. It's clear they ended the story of this xpac and will soon be coming out with the tie in to the next xpac. They've been talking about another titan facility somewhere within the world, I'm guessin we're goin there for our next and last raid of the xpac. I'm also guessin it's on dragon isles. From old concept art part of the isle looks like and old god. I'm assuming n'zoth is there or Sylvannas will be there to x,y,z us into the next new story for the next xpac.
There goes another Warchief. It's probably the best thing Sylvanas could have done, not sure how things could have played out differently for her. I feel like the Horde has no identity now, I'm not even to comfortable in Orgrimmar anymore. Just Thrall, Baine, Anduin and Jaina holding hands walking to the rainbow. I can accept peace but this...what is the Horde now?I like Sylvanas. Yes I do, she is one of those tragic villains/heroes I'm a sucker for. Look at her past....I like her! :3I know a lot of people are saying "she basically told you to f*** off, how can you still like her?" Well..it's complicated. For one I'm 99% sure she did not include those who were here absolute loyalists when she said "you all mean nothing!". She obviously didn't mean that to *HER* dark rangers standing there, or to the Forsaken. If Sylvanas didn't care about the Forsaken why bother be their leader for years? She does care for them, at least a little. Now after the Ghostlands my theory is Sylvanas is going to confer with Helya, we still don't know what their pact is all about.This...
There are some observations that most people miss to see:Spoilers:.....Observation 1:Sylvanas opens her monologue after loosing her cool by saying:"The Horde is NOTHING, you all are NOTHING.........savour it, NOTHING lasts" (Cinematic)Then again She repeats the same with the emphasis on "Nothing lasts" to her loyalist champion."NOTHING lasts. When next you see me, you will understand" (Sylvanas loyalist epilogue ending)Interpretation 1:Sylvanas hinting towards the infamous eternal couplet of H.P.Lovercraft:"That is not dead which can eternal lie. And with strange aeons even death may die."She may be referring to Nothing aka the void which is primordial and lasts forever, into an eternity of darkness. Also the reason for her saying: "enough souls already fed to the hungering darkness". It is the ominous truth she saw when she died and why she doesn't want to die. Shadowlands is a haven for dead souls but the true death is souls being consumed by the void. shadowlands is like its elite counterpart, "Halls of Valour" where warriors live a life of eternal joy and Helheim created by Helya. Sylvanas didn't see this afterlife but the harsh reality that is encroaching into the shadowlands - "The Void". The void hungers and can consume all things, even the light, as in the fallen Na'aru. The 6 on the high table and one consumes all. However, she wants to be the one which is not dead or be undead that can eternal lie. However she has only 3 more valkyres with her, enough for one last resurrection. That explains her mindset which is hell bent on overcoming death itself. What is more powerful than death? The void, it can consume even death. She is using the same void to beat death and use some form of primal void magic, that can, maybe control the old gods as well. She clearly knows more than what the rest of us know and is always two steps ahead of us. Interpretation 2: Us, Alliance and Horde, this unity she is seeing wont last forever. Nothing lasts, not even this new found "break the cycle" unity. Remember the boy king serves one at the hightable and he offers 3 lies. Anduin serves light and maybe this is the first of 3 lies. There can be no permanent unity between the two factions. Interpretation 3:Maybe this was just put there for a cinematic ending and nothing more and the same is reflected in the loyalist ending. Interpretation 4:It can also mean that Alliance and Horde which she referred to nothing at the opening of monologue, ended it by saying nothing lasts, symbolically meaning Alliance and Horde, the factions will last forever. Interpretation 5:Maybe it is foreboding something else entirely which can be a hidden secret to be explored in future plot line.Since the plot is more and more referring to death and old gods, what more can make sense than Interpretation 1. Warcraft lore is heavily based on H.P.Lovercraft and we have Hatercraft walking in Stormwind already. Remember this Dalaran Doomsayer's warning back in legion:"An Emerald Dawn.An emerald sun dawns in the vault of the heavens, but casts no shadow. The world lifts her voice in terror, but only one can hear her cries. From the space that is everywhere and nowhere, the crooked serpent feasts on stars. It has no eyes to see, but it dreams of infinite endings and beginnings."This particular warning like the whispers of Old Gods hints towards something far more sinister that is about to happen. The last line in particular refers to the blind idiot God from H.P.Lovercraft's works,"Azathoth". Observation 2:There is clearly someone far powerful who wanted her to be the warchief and start all war and bloodshed. There is clearly someone who is manipulating her and is making her path where she is going. Sylvanas's bargain was with Azshara and not with N'zoth itself as she says, "They will fight Azshara's master", not her master. She serves death. However, Yogg was referred to as the Old God of death. Maybe the sleeping old Gods in N'yalotha are manipulating all of us, like N'zoth manipulating. Remember, N'zoth offered Azshara a way from dying, maybe he wanted her to release him or set in motion a long chain of conning in motion thousands of years back. The old Gods were fighting each other during the primordial Azeroth. Maybe Old God's want the rise of Black Empire as their common goal but they still have inner conflicts within them. Like when Alleria is being whispered by the void to kill Sylvanas. The undead are a threat because they are clearly neither living nor dead but can wield void magic, something the living have to learn to control. Observation 3:Not directly relevant to Sylvanas but the location of N'zoth's prison. We all see the design of the seal that ticks and turns and finally breaks the chains that hold N'zoth at the end of Azshara's fall in the raid. This particular seal have not been seen anywhere else, not in ulduar or uldir. No other titan facility shows this seal except one titan facility we think is very safe. The Chamber of Hearts, its location may not be in Silithus, remember we are using teleporter directly inside the chamber. However, when you get teleported inside, on your back, you see the exact titan seal that kept N'zoth imprisoned. This seal has been infront of our very eyes this whole time yet, we do not know where this chamber except it is said that this titan vault is far below underground in silithus. There is clearly a facility that holds this titan vault. We are told that the rotating discs under us in the chamber is the seal that protects the world soul. Remember the whispers, "we have filled her heart". What if this titan vault is somehow connected to the same mysterious N'zoth prison facility. Although this may not make sense, there are lot more questions than can be speculated.
