Not gonna lie, pretty excited about the soft confirmation that there are more unexplored continents on Azeroth.Probably laying the groundwork for when the World Soul saga wraps up
Not to be that guy but a lot of typos in this. Wowhead authors should be proofreading, spellchecking, and peer reviewing. The direction they're going and atmosphere seems interesting but the past writing quality definitely has me with low expectations.
man i feel bad saying this, but i want alleria to be a raid boss so her bow can drop, i want it so bad lol
I'm liking Faerin so far here. The writers here have mostly avoided the pitfalls such a... designed character could fall into, like being preachy/holier than thou and always right. There's the angle that maybe her disobeying Steelspark multiple times shouldn't be always be narratively rewarded, but I'd have to know the exact context of each time by playing it myself to make the final call. And the vibe I get isn't that Steelspark is wrong per say, but that Faerin is doing her job as a Lamplighter a bit too zealously.I'll have to wait until we get the voice acting to really be able to get a feeling of her character, but so far this is promising. Good job, writers.
Frankly I'm very intrigued by the idea that the Arathi Empire might...not have started in the Eastern Kingdoms. Or if like - the Tirisfal humans and the Arathi humans both coexisted, instead of all human kingdoms in the Eastern Kingdoms stemming from the Arathi. I've always held this theory that humanity spread out a whole lot more than we're seeing in-game, and that the cultures we're not seeing are a whole lot more varied.
The timeline is quite intriguing here! For the sake of it, let's say TWW takes place in year 41 (after dark portal opening). 15 years ago would make the Arathi appearing down in Hallowfall at the time the Burning Crusade began.Steelstrike said years later there was a rumble and the crystal went dark. Anduin connects this to the day that Sargeras plunged his sword into Azeroth. That would be 6-6.5 years later in the year 32, more likely towards the end of the year before BfA began in year 33. So it sounds to be on track.Side note: Sounds like we Khadgar dies in the fall of Dalaran? Which would be very sad. I wonder if Medivh's staff is taken up by anyone after Khadgar or it goes with him.
I was really worried that this zone would be all about how the Light is evil. So refreshing that it is the opposite. However, if Khadgar doesn't come back full Gandalf at some point, I will be so disappointed. I want a Gandalf moment so bad lol.
"I remember the park near where I used to live, my parents would take me for walks there, and we'd feed the animals. Most of all though, I remember the feeling of belonging. I remember my family. I remember my friends."If Faerin remembers all that, why did she run away? What exactly happened that she suddenly felt like she didn't belong and had to stowaway on a military vessel? I know kids are dumb, but this seems kinda conflicting as a backstory. Absolutely love her design and such though.
So when will we find out exactly what Beledar is?
"<Anduin looks lost in thought as he stares at his drink.>> What's on your mind?<Anduin looks over to you.><Player>. You've been so helpful down here, as always. How do you do it?How can you even look at me, after what happened... after what I did to you?I tried to kill you."LOL, I love this, we players have been killed/attacked so MANY times now that is passe (or old news) to us. To the point that everyone was wondering what he did that was so upsetting to him. We players often forget that Murder and Attempted Murder is a crime and are supposed to be traumatizing to the perpetrator and victim. But do to player mechanics and the fact that this is a video game, we players can't see it that way. What's even more fascinating is Anduin does it again to us in Azj-Kahet, by reminding us how reckless we are when pursuing an opportunity as it is "what sets you apart from us all" He really is built to be a moral compass for players.
Anduin needs to be the king again.
