You can easily do level 3s. If you are having trouble, just take your time and clear all the mobs and treasures on each floor. This will give you a lot more currency and anima powers. Go for ones that can stack (if they arent bad). Take your time killing packs of mob and pull the big mobs solo if you need to. A lot of them are in a big pack, but you can pull the smaller ones usually without pulling the whole group. If you rush to the end boss, you won't have significant anima power and will suffer. You can easily have 20+ anima power by the end of run to use on the boss. Try to go for anima power that is beneficial for the end boss. I know there is one where you can have the rats explode. That's useless for the end boss.
Some people like the maw and torghast, some don't. Nerfing both of them so the players who dont like them can breeze through just makes the experience suck for everyone. "I dont like this game feature so I'd like it ruined for those who do" is a wild attitude that seems more prevalent these days
I have finished torghast this week and last, but sadly as a rogue i only receieved buffs that gave me +Movementspeed,or buffed my night fae's transform ability.Never ever got the epic that gives you all 3 cd from every spec, when you use yours.Never got anything else than stacking less cd on potion,or +xy phantams
My alt is blood DK. Won't this soft enrage affect the ability to kill bosses?
Lol yeah, the blob wrecked me stacking on Unnatural power, couldn't interrupt quick enough with pummel. XD
It's still timed in that you get jumped by Assassin or Elite respawning mobs if you stop for any reason. I ran into a rune chest last night and while trying to figure it out, I gave up in disgust as I kept getting ambushed over and over again.

I usually do take my time and kill pretty much everything for anima power. From level 4 onwards, its pretty much stupid easy. (Dont forget to release Soul Remnants on layer 3, there are usually a few there, somtimes up to 5). At the endboss, with the second vendor purchase done, I think: Feal my wrath! But they drop so fast, its kinda boring.
If it's the assasins that got you then aggro a small mawrat but don't kill it - it does almost no damage so you can stay in combat as much as you like and fiddle with chests. The assasins don't spawn when you're in combat.
Does this scale with the ilvl or do I actually need purple gear to do layer 4 and more?
I feel there's some very different opinions about a two-week old feature, considering there's way too few samples compared to variables. The variables include but aren't limited to classes, specs, anima powers, gear, layout, types of enemies, availability of souls and so on.WoW never before had an 'endless dungeon' like feature, and imo, for the first attempt, it came out well. You can experiment with powers without them influencing large parts of the game, some work better than others. The first three clears of layer three I wasn't struggling solo as rogue, but in the last one I encountered Maw of the Maw whom I could just scrape by with the skin of my teeth (using two Vanish resets at zero deaths), and I'm quite an adapt soloer. That was frustrating, but I'm not shunning the entire feature just because one run was frustrating.Tl;dr: Torghast will likely see changes to balance is a bit better, but the implementation now is already pretty good.
