I would re-sub for a classic fresh. I missed it the first time around since I was raiding in retail at the time with a good group of people. I have since unsubbed from retail after CN. SL has been so so horrible for alt progression, time wasting with 3-4 different borrowed power systems, just not my vibe. I would love to hit back Vanilla for a few months. I hit TBC pretty hard for about 2 months before I was all Phase 1 BIS just waiting on P2 while I play other games :)
A seasonal fast paced classic+ would be cool, with random season "challenges" (changes, like in Diablo 3) to make it interesting/harder (much like mythic affixes). These could be like: reduced buff cap for players, reduced debuff cap for bosses, changes in tier set bonuses, random spawning patches of fire around players during the whole raid (fights, trash, walking around), random chain lightnings that force players to spread all the time, etc.Changes that make the "solved" game more challenging and forces people to solve it again, creating new strategies and metas every season. But all this with a fast paced progress, to compensate the extra difficulty, the frequent resets and fresh starts, and to cycle the challenges faster, keeping the content fresh and not a dull weekly farm.
Confession to make: in the lead-up to Classic's release, I confidently predicted that it would be a complete and utter failure. I thought it would play out similar to the "fresh start" servers people were always demanding back in the vanilla days. Packed for a few weeks, then a ghost town.I have to admit, I got that call completely wrong. Classic still doesn't appeal to me - it was the best game in the world in 2004, but I don't want to play it again in 2021 - and I haven't logged into it. But I'm glad that those who do play there are enjoying it as much as they are!
