To those who said : Oh classic was so "hard" rofl . It was actually the players base of knowledge about the game back in days which made vanilla looks hard.
Hold on, is this not an raid boss that require attunemet and least need 40 people?Well something prob could be wrong there or well our expectation of difficulty was not as we tough.Or they are just very hard core too the bones! lolTough i would not mind if they increased its difficulty if any can do like these people.
I was thinking that maybe this would take a couple of weeks. I guess even my estimate was too generous.I guess this sort of thing is why legacy fans I talked with were understandably so quick to fall back on the "community argument" when discussing why their game is superior... I have to admit I would love to break such arguments in half with my present understanding of the FF14 community...
I just can't believe reading through comments that there are people still living in 2004 believing that content is really hard and thinking this is exploit, not legit or whatever. HELLO wake up, its 2019, people played the game for 15 years, this guild particularly cleared this content many times on other servers, they know every single trick in game, there's unlimited amount of information available now compared to 2004 when people barely knew how to log in.Vanilla provides progressive, slow paced leveling adventure, but the end game content isn't that hard as long as you can get 40 people. Your regular dungeon boss on retail has more mechanics than old raid bosses, just use your brain a bit. You remember it as hard game, because EVERYONE was new to PCs let alone WoW, I agree, it was hard in 2004 but not now.
damn, look like people are just stomping all over Method with this "race to world first" eh.
That one lowly Druid...
I am just so shocked.Kappa
For the people insisting they increase the difficulty on these bosses - they can't. Then it wouldn't be what it was in Vanilla. Basically, the experience will never be quite the same, as we have access to guides and tools we didn't before. People were still figuring out how to even navigate an MMO when this content was all new - now, we're at a point where we've known how to do all this for over a decade. It's never going to be exactly the same, and it's unfortunate that Blizzard is basically damned if they do, and damned if they don't. People beat the content too fast because they knew all the best leveling routes and strats? Then the game is too easy, needs a difficulty increase. Want an experience as authentic as they can get to the original game, right down to simulating casting lag? Then they can't tune anything in a new way. There is no perfect solution. :(
There goes the race to world first .... FinallyAnd I am happy it is not Method
Impressive 15 years ago......
Well, turn the servers off lads, the game is done.
not even full lvl 60 raidclassic is dead in 6 weeks
So method was beaten at their own challenge!
Well obviously this is not the same Raggy that we fought back in a days...Basically a pug for MC with under 60 on board. At least old MC used to require months getting the right gear with all those resistance requirements.
Why did we struggle so much to do this with 40 level 60s in blue gear? Even picking up epics over the course of weeks, it was still very challenging to get through all of the bosses. Can anyone explain why we were so bad at playing 14 years ago? Or did it come down to $%^&ty tanks and healers? If the mechanics and power level are not the issue...
Blizzard missed an amazing opportunity with WoW classic, to remaster the base game and make it better for all. Building on base mechanics, changing monster mechanics, even making the game more fluid or enjoyable. But they dun wasted this opportunity and instead gave us the same game from 2004.Blizzard, its game design 101 that players DO NOT know what they want in a game, and no one even the classic players wanted this absurdly easy, game. There are several things that would have given us the classic experience if they did them, and it is pretty sad they did not and here they are- Changing how quests play out, but keeping old formulas, so memory isn't going to cause some players to be better than others.- Changing gear stats around, so no item is the same anymore, making the game feel more unique and interesting.- Something I felt this is more of a nitpick, but, there is honestly more class diversity and race diversity in modern wow, IMO, adding extra class abilities, or race abilities would have felt a lot better. A late level racial that is locked behind progression makes the progression curve way more exciting.- Changing talents making them more interesting. With all honesty, if leveling alone drives you to level, then you have a problem, Leveling does NOT feel good, it feels like real life. You level up, and then you pay a level tax to learn new skills, sorry to say thats what it feels like because so much of your income goes down the drain immediately. - Change monster locations, Added more monster models and changed monster spawn locations, as well as tweaked monsters to do new things.- They even had the opportunity to add new battlegrounds that they failed to deliver in the first release and new dungeons/ raids in the same style. Again, It's not hard to replicate the classic style, in fact, they can probably build any number of classic raids in the time they had.- Add Jewel crafting, and additional professions, diluting drop tables further, as well as revamp old professions to make them more interesting. This adds extra layers to player progression and is very good and helpful. One thing would be actually correct the mistake of linen being less valuable than wool and line this up with reality.- Made quests do not send you to the same location twice, in individual quest chains because this happens quite frequently creating a lot of backtracking. - Adding additional class quests, because everyone likes them so much.- more profession questsThese are just things in my opinion as a game designer that they could have quite easily done. The fact they didn't, in my opinion, is what killed classic, and the fact they released the same game from 2004 was an outright mistake. They had an opportunity here to remaster the game, and refresh it but they did not. Blizzard isn't incompetent as people think they are, they can easily do all of the above, it is equally our fault as a community and as a player base for not appropriately asking for the things that would bring back the classic experience. We know all there is about classic I am sorry to say. Slight things may be different but the vast majority IS identical. The sad thing here is, that the no changes hash tag has potentially ruined the classic experience and completely caused that experience to remain far out of our reach. The only way to get that experience again is to make a new game, remastered based on the original, in which we as players have no idea about and blizzard with their vast world can do this quite easily. Rather than pushing for no changes, we should have been asking blizzard to give us a new version of World of Warcraft, now remastered and most importantly foreign to us as players. It is definitely not going to happen now and I doubt it will ever catch on but. #NEWVANILLA
Something is very wrong. There is NO WAY IN HELL they could have all the FR gear required for MC. Either they found an exploit, or the raids are very under tuned. Either way, it won't last long.
