What do you do with characters at end of season? How about just let us send them "anywhere". Like why cant we send characters to retail after they become obsolete? Let us import old mounts and tmog for once.PS. World Buffs are cancer. If the problem is balancing bosses or something - then just buff us with all of them while we are in a raid instance.PPS. If phases are 2 months, then you triple the loot and triple the chances of getting of getting rarer loot.
Please for the love of god remove the ranking decay its the most obnoxious mechanic in the game
try going outside, there's 4 seasons every year to enjoy
Am I the only one who thinks 12 months is way to little time? Its perfectly fine for MC and probably BWL. But 8 weeks of AQ? 8 weeks of Naxx? I was in a decent guild during classic and we still needed 3 weeks to clear AQ40 and 4 weeks to clear Naxx, that leaves 4-5 weeks to actually farm it and get some gear before its all over. And thats not even considering the AQ40 event which took some weeks aswell. It feels like they are working so hard on removing the speed-run meta that they are not realising they are making the entire game a speed-run instead. I loved the pace in Classic, when there were time to lvl an alt, farm gold, honor-farm, all possible with a full-time job and family. I would say 18 months cycles are better. Add 1 month in phase 1 for leveling and getting decent pre-raid gear. 1 month added to BWL because of all the juicy loots in there that stays BIS for a long time, 2 more months to Phase 5 and 2 more months for Phase 6 so people actually get the chance to raid and enjoy the content. Reading the comments, I seem to be in the minority here, but I cant for the life of me figure out why they have to change so much. Classic has managed to stay relevant for 15+ years because of what a great game it is and was. I rather see Blizzard focusing on fixing and tweaking minor things than change the whole game. I don't see this happening but I had to express myself somewhere.
Reading the comments I didn’t see the suggestion of just having an NPC in the raid instance that can give you full world buffs once per lockout and any buffs brought in are immediately removed. This acts like chrono item without having to run around for it and allows guilds to determine the best time to get thier buffs. You can even make it a quest line where the buffs are unlocked when you kill ony and clear dm
all these "solutions" to world buffs are just seeking a problem that doesn't exist. don't like world buffs? don't use them. your guild demands you get them? find a different guild that suits you better. its really that simple. from the looks of the comments there are many people out there who have an irrational hatred of an entirely optional feature of the game so you should be able to congregate together quite easily.
I still don't get the crying over world buffs. We as players should be happy that they won't be in it. That frees A TON of time to do other stuff or NOT to play the game. I almost feel that all these people that cry for the world buffs feel that they won't be able to kill raid bosses without having a wipefast and embarrassing themselves. Because that's what world buffs do. Help you skip or have less time on "hard" mechanics. As for the "don't use WB if you don't like them" statement doesn't work to be honest. A lot of people will have to use WB if they are in the game whether they like it or not. If they do allow WB in in my opinion it should take 5 times longer to get them all, so that these people who "love" world buffs can show whether they REALLY want them or not.As for honor. I'd say a really important question is what will happen with these characters once the season is over? Do they carry over in TBC which would eventually carry over in WotLK? If yes then I don't think that there should be any nerfs to the honor system because it wouldn't be fair to people who got their ranks previously. On the other side however that would mean that there will be a lot more players going for ranks that previously ended up with rank they aren't happy with aka re-rolling from TBC back into Classic or people who gave up on WoW altogether coming back. Also I'm curious on the leveling. Will it be like in TBC - more XP from quests, less XP required for levels and elite quest mob being regular quest mobs or will it be just increase in XP from quests? If it's just increased XP from quests it won't be that much faster leveling experience. In fact It will fill the 3-4 levels that you would usually have to grind/do dungeons to level them(due to lack of appropriate level quests), which isn't that much of a boost in the time leveled if any.
So, just to make sure. We’re being “sold” classic content as new content here again, right?
''What about creating a new Realm type, such as PvP-WB and PvE-WB? These could essentially be realms with World Buffs or Chronoboon Displacer enabled?''That would be BIS!
My two main thoughts/points of contention (aside from the war effort, which I'd need to see how it unfolds) are that the increased gathering nodes, while nice, won't do anything to meaningfully combat economic damage from botting (see more below) and at the end of the season, players should have an option to transfer their character onto the Classic Era or BC Classic realm of their choosing. The botting problem is the big one. Bots will still wreck the economy in weeks if not days, even moreso with increased gathering node locations since they have less time spent waiting for nodes to respawn while competing with other bots and actual players. Bots need to be banned on a weekly or biweekly basis the way FFXIV hits RMT and and bot accounts; I encounter very few bots outside the occasional /say spammer in Ul'dah and those tend to disappear fast. Big, massive waves every few months looks more impressive but weekly waves have, in my experience, a more visible effect on the game experience.
Anyone kind to let me know how to take part in the open beta?
zzzz classic fresh, yeah no lets actually try something innovative for once maybe?
Raids are kinda boring anyway. Everything is 100% figured out, so now it will simply take 1 extra minute per boss. How about making the game more open world focused? That was what people really enjoyed, being in the world, meeting their friends and going on cool adventures, as soon as AQ40 came out back in 2005 90% of my friends quit, it was just about grinding pointless loot at that point. Mythic+ dungeons could actually be really fun if implemented well, super fun to learn the routes and pulls as a tank.
This caters only to the fastest people, who has a lot of time to play this game. The rest of the population will not get to experience the real content unless they are as fast as those who play more, which will ruin it for many. Unless Blizzard is interested in losing money they really shouldn't consider something like that.
They really need to rename this to "Era of Mastery" or something that doesn't annotate it being temporary. It will put many potential players off that their efforts only will be temporary. Since I believe Blizzard wants to make money, they need to rethink such decisions. Better yet, they should rename it "Classic" since it will replace the old version. There is no need for two instances of the same game, when one is superior.
