My favorite memory was earning my very first ground mount at level 40. This was when the game had first launched and mount prices were expensive relative to the gold you got from questing. We had to focus on grinding enough gold to earn them and not spend it on other things. Once my friend and I bought our cats, we went and posted in Darnassus for screenshots.
My most favorite memory from WoW? Hmm...That's a tough one. I would have to say when I hit level 80 on my first toon. I wasn't the best feral Druid at the time, but she was my main and I rarely played on any other toon than her. I haven't been playing since Vanilla, only since sometime after WotLK came out. I did love getting to levels 60 and 70 and being able to see how the world changed at those points, but hitting 80 made me so happy because of how long it took to get there.
Unfortunately, I was not able to start playing when WoW first came out and I wish I would have been able to, even though I have heard many stories on how it sucked to do anything. I still wish I would have been there to experience it. That being said, I started about 6 months before Wrath, and my favorite memory of all time is earning my first mount at level 40, about a week before they made your first mount level 30. I remember bragging about it in Trade "Woot I EARNED my first mount!" That accomplishment is still the best feeling I had when it comes to actually doing something. Also in my noob days, I was playing on a PVE server, while not knowing what PVE meant, I freaked out every time I saw a horde player and would try to hide from then everytime I saw them on my minimap (yes my first toon was a Nelf huntard:). Sometimes I would be hiding for an hour or more waiting for them to leave, thinking if they saw me they would kill me. Was about level 40 when I was finally told what PVE meant and I did not have to worry unless I flagged myself. Possibly my biggest noob moment ever!
My favorite memory is back in Burning Crusade, while hunting for the elusive Emerald Whelpling pet. While tirelessly killing hundreds of baby dragons, my guildmate Shealla came without warning to help me. We found not just the adorable pet, but how much we enjoyed one another's company. We started dating, and now we've been living together for 4 years.
Getting my epic charger in old world WoW. Going into Scholomance with a group was pretty cool and the quest itself was tough but fun in the end.
My favorite moment would definitely be during the first few weeks of playing wow. Trying to find the battle masters at level 15 running all over Ashenvale to get to the battlemasters next to the instance portal for WSG. A few hours later, somebody told me I could queue from a major city. I was like, "there are more major cities than Darnassus?" I feel like such a noob now that I look back on it. Running all the way to IF just to learn gun training on my DRUID. It was disappointing when I figured out i needed an idol instead of shooting things. Wow was great back then, even better once you understand how the game works =D
Mine would have to be the moment that we downed Ragnaros, back in Vanilla. My guild had been battering Molten Core for about a year, or at least it felt like 5! Every Friday evening, til the wee hours of Saturday morning, and every Sunday lunchtime til dinnertime. I was the guilds main tank at the time - having progressed from 5th tank to main tank in the space of time that it had taken us to even SEE Raggy. It was a Sunday. I know that much. And I think we were on our stupid number attempt. All very very ready to give up. All on Vent, all trying to gee each other on. We started the attempt, and it seemed to go the way of the others - just another repair bill - but then something changed. We all went quiet. No one wanted to jinx it. And then it happened. Oh my GOSH IT HAPPENED. I don't think there were many people left alive. But there was a LOT of noise. It was one of those moments that it was quite sad, but true that people were close to/actually crying. That was a TRUE achievement.
My favorite moment has to be downing the Lich King. My guild worked so hard on that and finally watching the video was the most awesome thing I've seen in the game so far.
Vanilla timemy human priestthe old PvP race (against your own faction) to get PvP Rank. Finally on the last week I managed to get enough point to reach 0% of Rank 11, one less kill and probably I'd never get there. In the meantime I use tons of Runecloth to become Exalted with DarnassusSo I was finally able to get the Commander mount, and I choose the most beautiful one: Reins of the Black War Tiger (at that time you need exalted reputation also for the PvP mount and the Rank 11 to get them)I was so excited when running around Ironforge as a human on a black tiger, one of the few on my server being exlated with the elf and the only one with the Black War tiger :)
What is your favorite memory from World of Warcraft and why?I guess it would have to be downing Raggy for the first time. We spend weeks and weeks gearing up and wiping over and over again. Having to farm fire prot potions and having to be a resto druid because "WE NEED THE INNERVATE FFS" just made it all that mpre sucky. But when we finally got him down, the cheers on vent and in gchat was fantastic. Was a great feeling.Besides that, it would have to be achieving "Insane in the membrane". Farming mats and doing random rep runs all over the place for more than a year, spending 90k+ gold and just nolifeing quite a bit made the succes of finally having the title over my head that much better. The constant stream of whispers telling me that i must be "insane" is kinga great too ;)Ty for 5 awsm years. Wouldnt have been able to do it without you!Nareralqua
My favorite memory is when I first started playing. I had died a number of times and started seeing a yellow outline of myself under the mini-map. I had NO clue what is was doing there. So, I continued to play and realized that the yellow outline was quickly turning red. So, finally I was at a complete loss. I called my husband to find out about this mysterious outline. Come to find out.... I had died so many times that all my gear was at 0%.
My favourite wow memory is back from The Burning Crusade back on my awesome Hunter. It was when I slayed Illidan for the first time evar. The Black Bow of the Betrayer dropped and I won it. That was such a sexy bow. I keep it on my Hunter at all times now as a goodluck charm much like my Arcanite Reaper, YEAH!
Simply, my favorite moment was the first time participating in a large raid. I was poorly geared, I had a weird build (I was a rogue that focused as much on dodge and survivability as possible), and yet some folks took me along to Zul'Gurub. Going through with such a large group and destroying trash mobs. Coordinating so many people to take down bosses. The planning and tactics. It was wonderful. Things only got more amazing when later I started doing MoltenCore, AQ20 and AQ40 (after the AQ event), and numerous others. But being a newly 60 rogue in ZG, occasionally pulling aggro on things that were going after our support /heals (paladins, druids, etc) was wonderful. I could do short-term tanking wonderfully, and I became our indispensable 'Dodge-and-Stun-Tank' to help clean things off our team that the tanks didn't see or couldn't get to. It was a wonderful time and I felt useful and needed. This is why I now play a paladin today, I heal and tank. The two largely thankless roles that there always needs to be more of. I also led and coordinated raids through TBC and participated heavily through the first half of WotLK. I don't play nearly as often, now being just casual due to work and other commitments, but I still look fondly on a lot of the time I spent, and specifically about how I learned to be helpful and feel needed by the group.
Logging in for the first time in WoW. Can't get any more nostalgic than that. I remember it was almost 6 years ago and I was with a buddy of mine and he kept bugging me(and had been for several days) to buy WoW.In the end, I did, and after we grabbed something to eat we went back to my house and I installed the game. I was so freakin' excited..Making my first character(which is my main 'till now), doing my first quests, trying to understand my class etc... How awesome was that? Tell ya how awesome... *THIS* awesome! :D So... yeah. I think that's a pretty good memory..
