+1 All the Tierlist stuff is highly overrated cuz it ignores alot of stuff.
just play who the hell you want, dont listen to anyone
"Nobody plays survival anyway" *cries in neglect*To be honest, Survival is currently my favourite spec in the game. The spec has become (kind of) a meme these days it seems, but its actually a pretty effective in both raids and m+ and I was able to get both AotC and Keystone Master (S4) achievements as a Survival Hunter. We bring the same utility as other Hunter specs (traps, BL, MD, etc.) and are still highly mobile for a melee class. We have some, albeit limited, ranged utility with, for example, Wildfire Bomb, Serpent Sting and Aspect of the Eagle, which, to an extent, allows us to decrease our dps downtime in times we cannot be in melee range. Other specs could perhaps be better numbers-wise, but survival is in my opinion the most engaging of the hunter specs and the most fun to play.
Orc Beastmastery Hunter since the very first revamp back in WoW Vanilla... simple as that! No advices, tipps, guides etc needed! ;)
Feels like wow head just told people to shut the &*!@ up and stop throwing #$%^ fits because nothing is set in stone, and it was glorious.
Meta is temporary, fun is eternal.
i`m a Feral Druid, and i`m Ready For Lfr T_T
For me whenever a class doesn't do dps, healing or doesn't tank well it's just not fun. Undertuned specs are the worst to play. Hopefully Ench, WW and Survival get better i guess... and whatever else seems weak.
Are we like 100% certain this article isn't a tongue-in-cheek comment on the American election results..? ;-)
Every start of new expansion, we get an influx of returning players, much like they do at the gym in January. They are now ready to conquer the world, the next CE player. This just makes wow extremely toxic the first two or three months, and everyone is FOTM'ing the latest meta spec, much like they FOTM the current trend in fitness. Humans are so goddamn silly. Think as a tank, I'm gonna try invite non-meta specs in my pug groups, having the fotm spots reserved for friends I know are decent and not having this toxic mentality. Of course, nothing is worse then having say a feral who is also a new player who fights the dps meter with the healer, so there is always something to consider, which is why I love rio.
"Bring player not class" and "Play what you enjoy" is impossible if your class is literally at the bottom of the chart and you aim for mythic raiding / high PvP pushing. As someone mentioned, sitting in LFG getting declied for even low keys or arena push because "it is not meta spec" ruins any sort of fun from playing class/spec you enjoy. Some classes are just far superior with their kit of CC/utility/offhealing over the other outdated and no matter how good you can be at the class --- you will not match even semi-decent people on the "better" ones. Take for example arms in 2v2 bracket, while the top end is swarmed by warlocks, rogues, demon hunters, there is maybe 0.5-1% of warriors and your only win condition is opposing team making huge mistakes. But this is not just a case of warrior, the fact both high m+ and PvP brackets are from 50-60% dominated by maybe half dozen specs while rest is left to dust is wrong. You should not ever end at a point where your input means naught unless the enemy messes up or someone in PvE plays their class sub-optimal so you can be seen as equal.
"Nobody plays Survival anyway"that hurt right in my meow meow :'(
Play what you enjoy and the covenant that appeals.
I like how windwalker isn't even on the list... *Cries in kungfu*
We may yet evolve to a healthy, reason based community with fantastic articles as these. Reading this made my sunday, thank you OP.
Want to be stuck in Queue for long periods of time? Want to keep your guild proggression down cause you play underdog spec/class and wipe on those 1-2% Fights. Yes Do not roll FOTM on progression.I have seen it all.For your own pleasure of game if you do serious content roll a decent "bracket" class, unless you make it work at least in the middle of the chain. This is why I have all classes in game. If my favorite spec is too of an underdog i will swap "on a grind" if the grind is over, it does not really matter#Meta does matter You want your spec to perform well so you won't keep others down.
