Questions: How would they handle Achievements? Especially 3000 Quests and The Loremaster? This would make either one unimaginably easy if they would count both your Alliance and Horde quests. The whole idea of a faction swap is there to counter people being forced to reroll after committing so much to a character, but people that committed themselves to getting faction specific versions of achievements. Would they have to earn them again? Would they have a chance to earn the other faction's version on top of the old one? Would they just be given the equivalent? Alliance has access to less quests than the Horde. People *would* complain that people switching from one side can achieve this with less work. It'll open a whole different stupid argument. Also, will they translate faction specific titles, like my Brique of the Exodar to Brique of Silvermoon? (Although I kinda like the story of a Blood Elf that stowed away on the Exodar.) :]Are my mounts going to be "transformed"? Will I have less when I go switch my faction?Am I going to have to earn my Mag'har/Kurenai rep again? Or god forbid, my League of Arathor/Defilers Tabard? I've commited a lot of time into my Draenei Paladin. I'm currently working on Twenty-Five Tabards, and this means being exalted with a lot of factions. This is what's making me commit a lot of effort into a reroll I started with WotLK. Now that most of my Alliance friends have quit, what am I to freakin' do? I want to play with my Horde friends, with MY PALADIN. Not another one! :[
I wonder if I could for example:Undead Mage > Human Mage > Troll mage
Ah so it does. XD
To continue the debate on how rep will crossover, imo its simply a matter of considering which factions have an 'opposite'. For example if you are exalted with the mag'har and switch to the alliance it is logical to assume that you will be exalted with kurenai. Lets just hope they remember to swap the mounts for factions ie the AV mount. The tricky bit is how this works with the racial factions. Will the opposites be considered lore wise or functionality wise? For example I have always considered Ironforge to be a parallel with Orgrimmar, as they both host two races instead of one. This would mean that IF rep would become Org rep, and that Gnomeregan rep would become Senjin rep. however lore wise the humans are the parallel to the orcs imo, so stormwind = org and vice versa? My interperatation of how the racial reps would crossover goes a little something like this.Orgrimmar<>IronforgeSen'Jin<> GnomereganStormwind<>Thunder BluffTeldrassil<> UndercityExodar<>Silvermoon (hands up who saw that one coming^^)To further prove my point, why else would Blizz bring back the ravasaur taming faction in Un'Goro? So that those on the ally side who spent aeons grinding their frostsabers have something to show if they change side:)Cant w8 tbh, my warrior will be usable again.
WTb something that shows who switched so we can laugh at them
I don't see why there can't be a race change. To be honest, it would be much easier. Same reps and everything.I mean, the only thing you'd really have to change is your racials, which you'd do with a faction switcher.Oh, Blizzard. How I hate you so. ;D(That was a joke :P)-Tator
I guess Blizz is going to make some sort of balance system that they have made with the Free Migration.EX: There are 50 % Horde and 50 % Alliance. Both can change faction (/cheer!)There are 40 % Horde and 60 % Alliance. Both can still change faction. There are 30 % Horde and 70 % Alliance. This is when some kind of rule (or rules) kicks in, where only one faction can change. And if you still want to change side as the most populated faction you would get a free migration to another server with a balance problem. But i am avare that most people change faction because they have RL friends in the other one. But i guess you have to ask them to join your faction instead. A thing that would be perfect for solving that problem is " Free Faction Change ". In this way some people will be able to change to thier friends faction even though you are more then one that want to play with him/her. But that would only happen in the most extreme cases (20 - 80 or more). This sounds like a very simple rule, but im only trying to speculate ^^
