as far as i see it, if you cast 3x renew, you enter that state. If you then cast a different spell contrary to that state, example being flash heal, renew chakra state will end. It's trying to put your into different gearing and play style mentalities. Your meant to favour a certain spell which you gear for. Chakra will allow that play style certain pro's. You will see same spec'ed Holy priests with completely different play styles.
casting PoH three times in a row? - there's got to be an awful lot of raid damage going on.
oh i'm around. lots going on and not much to talk about here that can't be answered by stickies or most other people.
I'm sorry in advance for saying this (actually, not really because it is deserved), but the Shadow tree is a complete f##king joke now. Having to spend 65 TALENT POINTS IN ONE TREE? Why not just automatically turn on the whole damn shadow tree when you respec to it at 85, eh Blizzard?Give more talents for Shadow specs in Disc and they can easily fix this mess-up of talent choices. If GC made it that way because he thought it'd be funny to have priests take every talent except for maybe one in a tree, then all I've gotta say is that as long as he and Bobby Kotick are still involved with Blizzard, the game is DOOMED when Star Wars: The Old Republic comes out.FLAME ON! I HAVE MY FIRE RESIST GEAR!
I agree with wowelderscrolls. As a shadow priest there is little reason not to take most (if not all) of the shadow talents because everything in that tree is generally better than the options in disc.As it stands with 2 healing trees and 1 dps tree i dont know how blizzard is going to fix this, they appear to have tried to add more dps talents in the disc tree but they seem to be a lot more beneficial for a holy priest than shadow.Perhaps the intention was to boost the mitigation of the shadowpriest like they wanted to boost the dps ability of holy and disc priests? As it stands shadow priests need more options and fun talents both in the shadow tree and/or in disc/holy
Protip: The talent trees aren't remotely finished yet. Darkness still exists, for a start, and that is going to disappear since it is a boring talent. Complaining that the current trees give no flexibility is pretty redundant when the current trees only represent some new talents, mixed with a whole slew of old ones that still need to be replaced.I wasn't going to point that out, but wowelderscrolls's rabidness in this matter has spread beyond the levées of this thread.PS: Why the *!@# would you not take Shadowy Apparition, even if you were given a choice not to take it? Perhaps it is a good thing you're not being given a choice: it gives you less chance to screw things up by not taking core damage increase talents in Shadow. Jesus Christ.PPS: There is no such thing as a "Discipline" spell. There are Holy spells that are exempt from pulling you out of Shadowform, like Dispel and Mass Dispel, but there is no such thing as a "Discipline" spell. To clarify that even more completely: If you were to spec Penance+Shadowform when you hit level 95, casting Penance would take you out of Shadowform. All of the spells in the Discipline tree are of the Holy school. Smite is a Holy spell -- it's not even in the Discipline tree, it's in the Holy tree. Deal with it. Where is the sense of using holy spells to deal damage as a Shadow Priest? All this complaining that you're not being given enough choice to spec the way you want, when what you want is deliberately not to play a Shadow Priest? Reroll Ret Paladin if you want to deal Holy damage. Or spec full-time Holy or Discipline.Blizzard does not want to remove all the chapters on Shadowform that we have had added in the current expansion* only to have to start piling on new ones. They don't want to make exceptions.*
Well, rabidness, jerkiness, and antagonistic idiocy aside, he does make the same point that I made back on page one:
But Shadow isn't broken. The only things that Blizzard actually has to give us to bring us up to speed with Cataclysm raiding philosophy are mobility moves, because that's relevant across the board; damaging on-the-move is something that virtually no damaging class can do well at the moment, and movement is becoming increasingly important for Cataclysm raiding. Since it isn't broken, it doesn't need changing -- so I'm perfectly comfortable with it not doing so. If it does change, I'll be fine with that, too, as long as I am capable of assimilating the changes in an efficient manner, which I'm sure I can do.Healing, on the other hand, is changing a hell of a lot -- so of course there will be more talent adjustments required; the trees in their current form would be "Broken" as far as Cataclysm goes. Aside from that point, there has always been increased flexibility in healing specs compared to DPS specs. Holy has always had two or three ways to spec; and Disc's flexibility during Wrath has mainly been in where to invest supporting (holy)-tree points ... And I don't actually see that changing, either, at the moment. I see a large part of Discipline's tree as being dichotomous between "useful" and "useless" -- the only exception to that being the possibility of taking a faster Mass Dispel.

I like that "Darkangel" is catching on.
