Comment by fenomasHmm... how strange that -clysm, and indeed, after a bit of looking, pretty much every word with an -sm suffix are prounounced quite clearly with two syllables for the "-sm" part, but said part is only regarded as being one syllable.Comment by fenomasSyllables are about sounding out the word, not letters. silent nerd rage >.<Comment by MajiktuskJust putting my two cents into the conversation about finding syllables. I don't think it has to be perfect to the dictionary. Many poets fiddled with words to make them work by having to pronounce them differently. So I think it will come down to this again.
