In reference to the person with 1 arm, as you mentioned one of the best ways to go would be investing in a mouse like the Razer Naga. He/She wouldn't have to use the "click to move" system, but instead just use the mouse keys to move (clicking both at the same time). As long as he/she has planned ahead and selected the intended target, they can cast whatever they want using the side buttons, all while moving. And even with instant AoE spells, the targeted player doesn't really matter as the spell will prioritize more injured players. See tooltips Wild Growth Holy Word: Sanctify. There is also the option of having a foot mouse. They could use it to position and click while their arm is on the keyboard. In fact that sounds like a great idea.

I have thought about the unique challenges someone with one arm playing WoW would have for some time now, being that my son was born with his left hand missing. One of the best ideas I came up with is to hack and mod a keyboard so that you can use your foot/feet to push pedals/buttons (ie one pedal with four inputs to move forward, back, strafe right, strafe left, another pedal to move up, down and 2 free buttons for other actions). There would be a learning curve, but it would be possible, and in combination with a razor mouse/Warcraft mouse, he or she could easily heal a raid. It's one idea anywayTL;DR use your feet
Re: Shammies in the raid - we ALWAYS use a resto shaman for our raid heals. Doesn't matter that they don't have a "raid cooldown" - they're so good, they don't need one. Their chain heals are good enough to keep everyone up without a need for it.
As someone who's been a dedicated shaman for close to 5yrs... I've seen the class progress quite a bit. Have dabbled in all 3 specs, though Enhanc is still the love of my life. ;)That being said... I have gone through the feeling of not being unique anymore. I'd gotten use to the notion that I had special buffs and abilities that I, as a Shaman, was the only one able to provide. So when Cata hit and buffs were more or less homogenized across the board... it took some getting use to. I admit... I was not particularly pleased about it.But, something ppl seem to forget... is that Shamans are STILL the ultimate buffing class. We have almost every buff in the game available for use through our totems, and are able to switch out those buffs at will during any point in a fight. Which means that if there's a certain class/spec missing from your raid... there's a very good chance a Shaman can fill the gap. Not to mention we're still the only class with a group-wide fear/charm break. We're the only class with a decent Nature resistance (Hunters have one too, but you'll almost never see them use it since it'll mean giving up a more useful dps-boosting aura). Since ankh does not share the same CD as SS and brez, we also have the added benefit of being able to rez ourselves if we die, which can make the difference between winning a fight or losing. We also have Bind Elemental, which is incredibly effective CC, plus Hex. So a single Shaman can CC a dangerous elemental as well as a humanoid, and maintain both while dpsing or healing. And windsheer is still the shortest CD interrupt in the game, which makes us powerful control agents in fights that require interrupts.Something else to points out... is that Shaman dps is doing pretty well.Ele is hurting a bit, in my experience. I'm not particularly skilled at that, mind you... I think they could definitely use some tweaking so that its easier to sustain their dps. But a good ele can keep up with most other casters. An ele sham in my old guild can burst 20k easily in pvp gear and blues. So they're hardly worthless. Plus, the 5% crit buff is nice, and one that I notice doesn't crop up in raids as often as it should. And Wrath totem, which provides 10% spl pwr, is pretty epic. I think the only other class who can provide that is a lock. Enhanc atm is doing better then it ever has. I'm often in the top 4 dps in raids. Usually the only ones beating me are the hunters and rogues, and I'm wearing half heroic blues and half epics. There's a reason why so many Shamans have gone Enhanc since Cata hit... because we are beastly. And with Maelstrom, Glyph of Stoneclaw, Shamanistic Rage, instant Ghost Wolf, and Feral Spirits, our survivability in raids is incredible. I'm usually one of the last to die if we wipe on a boss.As for Resto Shams... I've actually only started getting back into healing recently. I'll admit... Cata kinda scared me away from healing for a bit. lol. But now that I have gear, I find healing to be a bit more comfortable. And I have to say... I'm doing pretty well. Resto heals are a bit weak atm, which Blizz is going to change in the next patch, which will help out a lot with mana conservation, since it won't require spamming quite as many heals to get ppl's life up. Buuut... rusty as I am... I do a better job healing then some other classes I've run with. And with Resto's mastery, it makes us powerful "save your ass" healers. And if Blizz adjusts our mastery to include aoe heals... Resto Shamans will become very strong healers in raids, since Cata just looooves to inflict massive raid dmg. And mana tide, with its low CD, is still one of the best mana-restoring buffs in the game, especially if rotated efficiently with Innervates and Divine Hymns.So... conclusion... certainly NOT unnecessarily. Definitely a strong, competitive class overall. Just in need of a bit of tweaking. ;)

Whats the problem with elemental (raid):1. No execute (or the hunter's high health-execute Careful Aim).2. Very little damage output while moving. <-- Big one3. No survivability abilities (you get a minor one if you glyph into elemental mastery)4. Unintuitive rotation (hit Earth shock before full stack, and don't hit it if it interferes with refreshing flame shock).5. Twitchy rotation (flame shock can come off of CD any time, and it does often. Higher latency or poor reaction time greatly affect dps).6. Limited availability of buffs - totems can die and players can get out of their range. Many other player buffs stick on the players. Theoretically, Shamans can place totems in other locations on purpose, but I've only done this with Nef (The platforms in 4 winds are so far apart that totems go away since the shaman is too far away from them). Why bring an elemental shaman:1. If you don't have a mage, you want a shaman. Although BM can do this, BM is low on the damage charts.2. Spell power buff. Locks do have it, but most don't go demo unless there is a need to AOE.3. Awesome interrupts at 5 second and non-melee range. Interrupts will decrease dps since spell casts are interrupted (dps loss is also seen in other non-mana classes).4. Nature resist - only Hunters can also bring that, but lose the advantage of their own aspect, while there is no loss to the shaman as long as you have a source of mp5 regen.5. Reincarnation, although less powerful than other revive abilities (only 10% health and mana), it doesn't count against your number of in combat rezes. The fire mage has a much better ability though Cauterize.
