For me it was Warlock Tier 5 http://www.wowhead.com/itemset=646.This set helped to distinguish the noobs from the hardcore. The only way to get the helm was to down Lady Vashj Lady VashjThe only way to get the chest piece was to down Kael'Thas Kael'thas SunstriderTwo of the hardest fights hands down in TBC and reminds me of a time when the game felt full of life! The raids were difficult and took skill and coordination, the guilds that didn't care about hard content could amuse themselves with Karazhan, Magtheridon's Lair, and Gruul's Lair.
Warlock Tier 6, because it reminds me of one of those gremlins from the 1984 movie "Gremlins" :D
My favorite tier set is Paladin T2 AKA "Judgement". The color scheme fits the class (even red, as you always have the need of spilling some blood). The swords and books in the shoulders are very paladin-themed, and the little scales in the circular badges just adds the final touch.
Definetly http://www.wowhead.com/itemset=673#.this is how a real tanking warrior should look like.Fully covered and extra protection being extra large, and its nice that the shields in Burning Crusade were actually large, like they actually can block HUGE incoming attacks unlike todays tiny piddle paddle shields.
Cataclysm Raiment, simply because Shaman being my favourite class, and this is my favourite looking set.
I never really played any other class than hunter seriously enough to get a Tier set complete, so my view is purely huntard. Still, I always liked the looks of T4 Hunter. Demonstalker set was, for me, the first Tier to look great on a Tauren Hunter. (Especially after the fugly bump that was T2), and so, was the one I was most excited to get Then along came T5, which was still good, but not just -as- awesome. From then on, we had some ups, we had some downs (*coughT10helmcough*), but none really compared to me to T4, in terms of awesomeness. And so, I still have it in my bank. There's some times the lack of space (and all the junk I keep) makes me want to get rid of it, but I always end up wearing "one last time, for the old times" 'round town... and then stuff it back in the bank, deciding I don't need free space that much after all.
I would have to say the Tier 5 Warlock. Sadly I joined wow much after this but its thanks to The Ozzy Osbourne wow commercial. Thats was my first look into Tier armor and it was amazing to look at. But also it just looked like that undead warlock could be The Prince of darkness.
After careful consideration and thousands of cross-referenced consultations with international professionals....a decision has been made. Dreadnaught remains the undisputed champion of tiers! GASP!no wai drednot is teh suck! trolltrolltrollI beg to differ troll version of myself!Blizzard's early sets not only were complete with their 8 pieces (and bloody tier 3 rings! RINGS I SAY!), but they upheld a sense of creative distinction and finesse. The perfect runway model for this Golden Age of WoW is of course, the Dreadnaught Armor. How the black blends with the blue, nay, how that essence of pure darkness tangles with that cold, arctic azure. The shoulders forged as roaring skulls that scream testaments of your status as being a god amongst raiders in the days when Naxxramas was the Olympus of those that braved those raid dungeons of old. And among all it's magnificent contemporaries such as Corrupted Ashbringer, the sword that Scarlet Monastery kneels before, the Dreadnaught Armor sits as a pixel apex for the genius of Blizzard's artwork. When you rushed your enemies in Alterac Valley in that dark armor of death, wielding that ancient tainted sword, foes trembled in awe at your power....for they knew they were in the presence of something more than just a player. They stood before divinity itself. When these grand heroes would stand in their capital cities theorycrafting their warrior abilities to it's ends and beyond, they would find their screens flooded with that ominous pink text. It is always a gamble when your mind first registers that colored writing whether it be another of your humble server following congratulating your superior abilities or that guy in your guild that never stops asking you pointless questions that never seem to tone down his suckage knob from 11. Yes gentlemen and gentlewomen, the Dreadnaught Armor will forever be remembered in the annals of time as the armor of those that had a little something extra in their blood; a stroke of genius in their keystrokes. They were....the elite of the elite.
I'm a diehard rogue, so of course I'm going to choose a rogue set. Though... since I think black and blue are the colors a rogue should wear only one set of gear really matches my idea of an awesome-looking rogue: Dungeon Set Two, also known as Darkmantle Armor. Darkmantle ArmorIt is often referred to as tier 0.5 and doesn't come from a raid, but it is still my favorite set. It makes me sad that the quest chain to get it was removed with Cataclysm.
I loved Tier 3 Set the best because that was the best set from the vanilla days that you can't even get anymore.
I think the Tier 6 Druid set (Thunderheart) captured the 'feel' of the Tauren perfectly, and it looks pretty amazing too.
I gotta say, I loved my Dark Coven Regalia, I'm a sucker for a nice, wicked, pointed hat...On that note, I can't stand Shadowflame's hat, it's almost like they tried their best to go back to the awesomeness of the Felheart and failed at it. It's just the hat though, I love the newer armor textures. I don't know what people are talking about how they look like plate for, by the way. It's like no one has ever heard of trimming.
My vote would go to the Death Tier 7 set, Heroes' Scourgeborne Battlegear (http://www.wowhead.com/itemset=-23#.) as I don't feel there's a set that actually sums up its class quite as effectively as this one does. It's probably the effect of the Scourgeborne Helmet that actually clinches it, it's got to be one of the coolest I've seen.
