I have to say, out of all the zones I've been through and all that questing I have done I enjoyed the zone of Darkshire far above the others. It's spooky atmosphere and also dangerous Elite that walked the road every once in a while always kept me on my toes. Not to mention the high amount of PVP action back in the day. It forced you to try to learn to survive.
My favorite is Duskwood. I still remember leveling up my fledgling alliance hunter in Elwynn Forest and looking across the river at the wolves in awe/fear. When I finally got into the zone the quests and surroundings were awesome. I have since moved to the Horde, so Duskwood still holds fond memories for me.
Zangarmarsh. Those shrooms are huge!
Shadowmoon Valley. The sky, the ground, the fel lava, The Hand of Gul'dan, the netherwing dragons, the Black Temple.I also got my first epic flying mount there, got my first lvl 70, and Crystalforged War Axe.Epic zone.
Storm Peaks... amazing questlines, great lore tidbits, fantastic scenery. Additionally I spent ALOT of time there camping TLPD.
I really like the skies of Nagrand, Love the cloud design there.

My favorite zone is elwynn forest because it's the most green one and... yes i must admit because it was where Cartman and his friends were killing all the poor boars!
The best zone to me was always Duskwood back in Vanilla WoW, during a time when ever quest, talent, and zone were a new and exciting world to explore that always had you hungry for more. Duskwood was dark and eerie; A perfect environment for the dark and shady events that took place there. Worgen and wolves would stalk you as you walked from the "living" side of Duskwood to the "undead" side at Raven Hill Cementery. Here you had to be at the top of your game to avoid Mor'Ladim, the 35 Golden Elite that could smell your fear a mile away. And if you by chance died to the innumerable mobs that plagued the area, you would have to walk across the entire zone to get back to your body, making you that much more cautious in everything you did.Being tricked into serving Abercrombie and raising Stitches, the Bane of all Noobs, and learning the secrets behind many of the farmsteads.....combine it with the dark greens, the fogs, and the music...it was a terrifyingly terrific place that has us vanilla children quaking in our Blackened Defias Boots. I will forever miss you old and exciting Duskwood, when you were a new and fascinating frontier to explore! R.I.P.!
I think my old favorite zone is still Nagrand, wide open, and beautiful. My new favorite has to be the look and feel of Twilight Highlands for the different view of the environment you can play in. From the caves to the flowing rivers to the beaches, it seems like a great place to be.
My favorite has to be Karazhan, my first raid ever. I still remember when I enterd the first time. It was pretty horrible the raid leader left after Attumen, and I, as the offtank even though it was my first time, had to lead the rest of the raid through Karazhan. Amazingly enough we got as far as Curator before we disbanded, so I have to say that it wsa a job well done. After that I continued to lead many pugs through Karazhan and the second time, when I didn't have to worry about going to wowhead to check out strategies, :) , I found the amazing music and beautiful scenery, and not even after 40 runs in that zone will I grow tierd of it.
I would actually have to say that Elwynn Forest is my favorite zone. Whenever i go there i get all nostalgic and start to remember my noob days, when 1 gold was actually much O_o Elwynn Forest also contains Goldshire which is.....pure gold, The things ive done in Goldshire......And who doesnt remember Hogger, that unbeatable epic gnoll :)Elwynn Forest also contains Stormwind which is my favorite main city ingame (Fav main city in Fav zone, how can this be!)Im also glad that Elwynn Forest didnt change much in Cata, because its fine the way it is :)
My favorite zone by far is Nagrand. It looks amazing and it has some pretty awesome quest chains.
Mulgore for one simple reason it has the best music in the game since day 1
My favorite zone would have to be the Swamp of Sorrows. A majority of the quests have an eerie feeling which contributes to the damp and darkness of the zone . From the broken ones inhabiting the northern part of the swamp, to the Alliance and Horde fighting in the south, even the goblins to the east, each have their own sorrowful history, which makes it an interesting zone. The zone was beautifully crafted making it my favorite zone of all time.
