Winterspring before cata was always my fav place was just a nice little place that hardly anyone ever went to.

mine has to be burning steppes. don't ask my why but everytime i go there to quest i end up doing a few levels just killing the ogres there :)
I used to love Nagrand, until I went to Deepholm. Yeah these two zones are far different, but the thing that made me chose Deepholm over Nagrand was: Therazane the Stonemother, I love the quests and some made me laugh. And I think her desing is pretty awesome, she looks terrific! -in all ways ;) - and I want her haircut! Hahaha!
Nagrand. It's just the prettiest single zone in the game.
Uldum. I love the Harrison Jones quest lines and the The Ramkahen and Tol'vir, cat people are awesome.
My Favorite zone is Stormwind City. There's so much character in the Human capital. From the warlock den hidden away under a bar to the stockades being an actual dungeon in the middle of the city to little things like the lowbie quest that introduces you to the wine shop in the canal district there's so much to see and do in Stormwind.
Twilight Highlands because of flintlock
My favorite zone would have to be Nagrand. Leveling my first character ever in Outland was an adventure, but Helfire was so red and Zangramarsh was a bit marshy. Nagrand was different. It was colorful. It was enormous. It was just pretty to explore (quite a few easter eggs too). To top it all off, as Horde you can complete a quest chain and see Thrall in all his shaman awesomeness. It also helps that its quest flow is excellent too.
Oh wow, this is harder than the first day! Each expansion has brought with it new zones that I've fallen in love with, so narrowing it down to a single zone will be rather difficult. I'm going to guess there will probably be a 'your favourite instance' question so I'll leave instances out of the choices. I could go with any zone that has titan architecture in it, which I adore--be it Un'Goro, Uldum, Storm Peaks or Sholazzar. Un'Goro especially is awesome for all the gaming references. Or maybe all the High Elf remains that echo our Greco-Roman ruins.I could go with Eversong Woods or Grizzly Hills which never cease to capture my heart with their music. There's also obviously grand places like Nagrand or Zangarmarsh that are full of colour and beauty.I could make an argument for nearly every zone in WoW by this point to why it should be considered. However, as per the contest (and Highlander rules) there can only be one.I suppose with that I shall name Tanaris--with a heavy focus on Caverns of Time. I love everything about Caverns of Time--the art style, what it represents, and most importantly my first trek in there as a lowbie 40-something warrior, just being amazed at the world around me. Up until that point I had never seen any of the BC content and had only played through vanilla stuff. I was amazed, I took so many screenshots. Even outside of Caverns of Time, how can you not love a zone littered with Pirates and both a mysterious (at the time) busted entrance to "Uldum" and a pathway down to a Land Before Time Jungle? Tanaris it is.
Eastern plaguelands would be mine zone of choice, for the epic chain quests you do there-both the one involving Darrowshire and the Travelling caravan.
Probably just like a few here, one of my favourite zones is Nagrand. Just as you enter the zone you're filled w/ this majestic but somewhat surreal view of floating islands. As you look down you see the many wildlife as you zip past. The quests there itself is pretty interesting that whenever I'd level an alt they have to go through Nagrand or else it won't feel right. I'd say my friends and I hung out there a lot. Either go fishing by the lakes or just hang around on one of the floating islands. Oh it also has Hemet Nesingwary
Winterspring. The zone always feels so peaceful when traveling through it. Quiet, snow covered - really captures that out in the wild feeling. Also has some of the more visually interesting mobs (even if some of them are just recolors). With the new Cata questing the zone is even nicer.
I love Silverpine with the new changes. You get to see the evolution of the aria and really feel like you are making a change in the environment. That and you get to run around with Sylvanas
