I hate to pick a new zone as my favorite, but personally, I think that Vashj'ir is an amazing zone. Unique, beautiful, and interesting. It was everything I could have wanted from a zone.
Mulgore. The atmosphere of peace and tranquility, and total communion with nature. Extremely relaxing.
I think my favorite zone would be Vashj'ir, this place can be so disorientating but had so much to see and do as well as being the only place in game that you can use the beautiful seahorse mount. The story to Vashj'ir flows well :) and the lore is really indepth, i love naga lore.
Grizzly Hills for two things:1. It looks incredible with it's towering pines and flowing rivers. Reminds me of camping in northern Michigan and Canada.2. What stood out to me more than the graphics though was the music. That lone stringed instrument (violin? cello? not sure) added this tone of haunting solemnity. After Bolvar's tragic death and the devastation at the Wrath Gate, I took a flight path back to the Grizzly Hills (for whatever reason). I remember being left speechless as the scattered survivors were screaming in panic while their fort burned and mass confusion set in. On gryphon back, I looked down and felt powerless--then as I got nearer to the Grizzly Hills, their screams began to fade and that lone violin kicked in and it just floored me. That song really solidified what a tragedy the Wrath Gate was. The spirits of Bolvar, Dranosh, and all the people who died that day will always be bound to that song and the Grizzly Hills for me. That was their version of 'Taps.'http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mpyInx0ldfo that song
My favourite zone is Stranglethorn, i always played Troll as main, and I love troll culture and lore. This place fits perfectly, so colourfull, full of life, and dangerous. Best quest lines with the crazy hunters :) and so much trolls :)
I'd have to say my favourite zone was the old Western Plaguelands. Questing through there really made you feel like you were doing your part to fight back the Scourge and try to win back the territory.
Silvermoon City. I love the royal spires and the Court of the Sun.
Ashenvale for the aesthetics and Hellfire for the beatiful sky
Mulgore. Will never forget when i first launched the game and saw such a beautiful wide area of plains with TB in the midle majesticaly coming forth out of the landscape. One of the few zones where i wasn't that angry about being so slow while being in a large area...
favorite zone is uldum how can you not love this place epic rope swinging with Harrison Jones, amazing explosions, epic flying machine gun while peoplw are chasing you .
Oddly enough, my favorite zone has always been Stormwind City! It totally captures the look and feel of the quintessential "Medieval Fantasy City"I'm a big fan of any of the Lush green foresty zones too; e.g. Elwynn, Teldrassil, Grizzly Hills, Feralas, Terrokar (minus the bone wastes), etc.
The best zone for me is definitely Grizzly Hills. Back before you could fly in northrend before 77, there was just something awesome about riding around in the zone. The music fit in perfectly, and the quests were pretty fun. Something about that woodlands atmosphere made it just perfect, and the best part of questing through Lich King content.
Westfall, hands down. The Defias Brotherhood quest was always a hoot. Lapdogs! All of you!
Favorite zone is Nagrand by FAR. beautiful scenery.
I've always liked Darkshore. Running around in a dark, gloomy forest was just so fun to me. Even after questing there with my druid, I'd always find reasons to go back and run around, like the aquatic form quest. I made my gnome take the journey by foot at level 12 to quest there. Since the cataclysm, I've enjoyed going back to the ravaged zone and learning the new quest lines and reminisced with some of the originals still lingering. I was so upset upon first arriving after the cataclysm and having to go look for survivors from Auberdine, pretty silly how it almost brought me to tears. As soon as I get the chance, I will avenge this atrocity. Deathwing must die!
