My favorite moment in wow was, when my guild and finally kill the Lich King in Wotlk. After a lot of weeks of wipes and disappointment we made it. Everybody was screaming in Teamspeak and some weeks later we finished the drakeachievement. These were the best weeks i can remember i've ever had in wow Wotlk.
My favorite memory of WoW was my first time in Molten Core and pulled all of the corehounds. :(
Best memory actually was seeing a running mate from early on, when I was a 40 and he was a 32. I helped him in Desolace. He said thank you for the help. Think I gave him some gold to help him along the way. He couldnt beleive it, so our conversation went to always being willing to pass it along, helping others. Saw him at 85 the other day, couple years after this happened. He commented on our early convesation, telling me that he helps the new players in the same way, always has. Pretty cool.
My favorite memory of World of Warcraft is actually an addon that used to be developed for the game. Flexbar was the best actionbar addon and it was amazing. The game allows the player to have 120 buttons and Flexbar would let you program each one to do just about anything. I would sit around in Ironforge on my Dwarf Paladin and program the buttons for hours. Unfortunately, Blizzard decided that complete control over the functionality of buttons was leading to many problems with hackers and bot users so they effectively killed Flexbar.R.I.P. Has to be when I created my very first character and then logging in for the first time. This was my first time playing a MMORPG game so it was something totally new to me. I remember pressing random keys and having the auto attack bind to 1 for quite a long time. The Defias bandits killed me a few times as I didnt know how to pull one at a time. At that time I was actually deciding between Guild Wars and WoW and because I was really frustrated with those Defias bandits killing me over and over I decided to play GW as my first MMORPG. But then next day in school my friend showed me a few things and how to play WoW properly and I suddenly got very interested in game. I then changed my mind and bought WoW instead of GW :D
My favorite moment in World of Warcraft history BY FAR, is back in Vanilla WoW at level 60, after tier 2 was finished, and it was time to put in the efforts for opening the gates to Ahn'Qiraj. Both Alliance and Horde farming their eyes out to be the first server to get those gates OPEN! The best part about it was... When the gates FINALLY opened on my server, I could bet 99% of the server was in Silithus, and all you heard on Ventrilo and read in General chat were people complaining about disconnecting/lag spikes, etc. Plus I'm on a PvP server, so there were some world PvP wars going on as well =P It defiently wasn't a good time to be in Silithus if your computer wasn't the best =P But, no matter how sad it may sound, I'll NEVER forget that day, was far too fun and memorable, between all the work everyone put into it, and EVERYONE being there to watch those gates FINALLY open. That was a GREAT time. =) Oooh, nostalgia! >.<
well, my favourite memory from wow is the time i was still a noob, an knew very few about the game (that was back in tbc), so whenever i saw a path, or a crack in a mountain i allways thought "Lets check it out! It might be some secret passage or something! or maybe a really cool treasure!", and i really didnt care about leveling or gear (i was a 40something hunter in white gear, with some quest and vendor greens). Now, all i care is gearing up, beeing the best an all that crap (excuse my language) which i find really boring, thinking back about the good ol' times. One story i remember is hearing someone talk about farming some raptors in a forest for weeks to get his mount (prolly his epic mount), so i thought "what a great idea!" so i started farming raptors in the wetlands (dont ask me how much it took to get all those gold by vendoring raptor drops...)Those things i really miss today, and i would give anything to be a noob again.Note: If Hades (who created the guild "Horde of Hades") or Shadowflame (Same guild) read this, i would like to say Hi to them :D
My most amazing memory of wow is going back a few years, to the opening of Ahn qiraj, think it was evenstar in my server that opened it (alliance guy).Over hundreds of both horde and alliance players were gathred up in tanaris to defend their honor against the invasion. Remember it so good since it was the most funny and greatest thing ever, both sides teamed up to fight against one common enemy (those big cat monsters) that was huge as buildings. As far as i can remember, that was the only time both sides teamed up against one enemy, now a days people from both sides just killone another whenever they get the chance, but just that specific day, even ppl that had pvp on were left alone, since we all were waiting for the greatest event to happen.
My best memory is from the European open beta. This was in January 2005, 1 month before release!Me and a flatmate ran around Teldrassil getting killed every 5 minutes. We had no clue what we were doing. After some time we met a lvl 22 dwarf warrior and a lvl 32 druid. Started chatting and then they decided to escort us to a grand city far far away! We never got there but in retrospect we think they meant Ironforge :pMaking that journey at lvl 8 is somewhat a dreaded run. We didnt know that of course. We had problems from the start. Running from Menethil Harbor to Ironforge is no joke even today! Got killed by crocolisks every 100 yard or so. Doesnt help with an escort when you get oneshotted. We were in awe by the scenery tho, so it was ok. In Loch Modan we met some yellow mobs. We couldnt talk to them and they looked really mean (Rhinoriding cows etc). I somehow managed to attack one of them (which flagged our entire group) and got corpsecamped for an hour or so. :) They were all lvl ? so... Anyways... during this troublesome trial our beloved friends had to leave. So me and my friend were left on on our own in Loch Modan. They gave us directions to Ironforge... directions in which we didnt follow of course. We ended up in Badlands. A place which is troublesome even at the appropriate level 30+ (because of the insane density of hostile mobs). Imagine the horror being there at level 9 (or 10)... We eventually got to Searing Gorge before we hearthed out. All gear was broken and we were tired of corpserunning. Luckily we had learned about Heartstones (and setting it in Thelsamar) so our journey wasnt wasted. We never got to Ironforge. We noticed that Loch Modan was a nice place to be at our level.. So we stayed there until the beta was closed about a week later. We both got to lvl 17.
My best WoW moment would be questing through all of Outland with two friends, starting on BC's release date.. Just after I had finished our Guild's final MC raid, I went to the local game store with some friends, and waited, waited and waited. Then, that fateful noise, two speakers blasting: "YOU ARE NOT PREPARED...", cheering and the doors opened. We entered, grabbed our copies of the game, ran back to our homes, installed the game, and met online, on the place where we had logged out: Before the Dark Portal. It was so crowded... We went through the portal, and all we saw was red, purple Elves, floating rocks and that beautiful skydome...We quested and quested, hit the level required for Terrokar, which I don't remember, since I don't roll alts. I still remember us questing through the entire Outland. Pizza, beer, vent... Those were the times... And then, when Wrath came out, we met up in front of the place where we began our big adventure a good two years ago. The Dark Portal. Ready to quest throught WotLK, and remembering how fun things were back then...
My most favorite memory so far is actually a very recent one. During the tier 11 progression, my guild had a bit of an off night; we had a fiasco with the trash mobs. We had overestimated ourselves while engaging Maimgor, the black drake just before Maloriak's room. Noticing that the battle was hopeless, what few members were present ran to the elevator in an attempt to escape. Naturally Maimgor chased us, but nobody wanted to stay behind to distract it while sacrificing themselves. After a few seconds which felt like much longer, the elevator arrived, and we jumped on. To our horror, Maimgor followed us! Not only were we at low health, we were trapped on the elevator with an enraged Maimgor picking us off. A few died, but those of us who survived ran out. After catching grouping up outside and healing, we zoned in. To our surprise, Maimgor was peacefully snoozing...on the elevator. He had claimed it for his own. Every time we tried to engage him, the elevator would descend, and he would reset. It took us quite a few times to get him to actually get off of the elevator, where we killed him. Needless to say, it was the highlight of the night, and the entire expansion thus far. I hope nothing disastrous like that happens again, but deep down I secretly do. The elevator boss + trash pulls is serious business.
My best memory of WoW is back when the game was released and i started to play. After a few days i joined an all danish guild and began chatting with the ppl in the guild. After a very short time in the guild i found out that the guildmaster was my fosterbrother, Emil, who i havent been able to find in 15 years or so. So a very nice memory and great thx to wow for bringing us back together :)
