My favorite memory of WoW has got to be when I had just started a Blood Elf Hunter. I was semi-new, returning to the game since I acquired a computer to play it on. I was defeating the giants in The Dead Scar when I was a level 10. By real-life friend, who had been a level 85 for awhile, starting joking around and teasing me: "Oh no, the scary level tens are gonna kill me!" And then she came over and one-shot them. I was astonished, and couldn't stop laughing. Nowadays... I'm a level 85 and help out people in my guild with the same quest, bringing back good memories such as this.
My favorite memory from World of WarcraftIt's not a big surprise that my best memory related to this beautiful world is from way back in the days when playing WoW was just about having fun, exploring and testing your skills against mobs 3-4 levels higher than you or even elites. I was a little dwarf, who just got out of the safety of Loch Modan and was entering a contested territory for the first time-oh, the terrifying Wetlands. After taking care of the evil orcs that were blocking my path, i decided to go exploring a bit. To the left there was a cave, but i was afraid of the spiders, so i skipped that. Going on,on the same side i noticed some more green orcs. Oh no, they were invading us! I killed two of them and proceeded to have a bite of that delicious Spongy Morel. While sitting down and enjoying my meal, i saw another dwarf paladin who was defending our land. I threw him an invite, and he accepted. We were now slaughtering the intruders with ease. But wait, suddenly my health started dropping fast. I looked around and saw the meanest of orcs: a real Horde player. I tried to run, and fortunately got healed by my fellow dwarf. Having almost full health again, i turned around and engaged the coward. But out of nowhere there came another evil doer-a taurean shaman. He healed the warrior and started attacking us. However, they were no match for the might of the paladins! We managed to send the orc to the graveyard, but the taurean, when faced with his impending demise, chose to retreat. We pursued him, empowered by the light, yet that cow was still faster. To our great satisfaction the crocodiles didn't like him much either, and with their help we caught up with him and managed to deliver the killing blows. Shaking from head to toes, i started dancing on the taurean's skeleton. I was very proud-for the first time i had killed a Horde, one of our mortal enemies. I shared my success with my guildies and friends who congratulated me and pointed out that if i really want to fight the Horde i should join Battlegrounds. I did as they said and spent many memorable hours slaying Hordes - and of course, dying by their dirty hands. This was my first PvP encounter, and i will never forget it. The thrill of fighting another player was second to none back in the days.Oh, memories..
My favorite memory had to have been when Shadowstep first came out in BC. There was a druid who had used flight form to land on a tree unreachable by easily most of the population at the time (flying mounts were still rare on my server). The druid was ganking the crap out of people in a highly quested area in Terrokar from his perch on a branch of that tree. I found a giant rock near the tree and managed to climb on top of it using some smaller rocks. I popped Sprint, ran as close to the edge as I could, jumped and Shadowstepped the entire range straight up into the air an right onto the druid's branch. I immediately dispatched him. He was so surprised he could hardly react. He called his guild afterward and a huge war broke out on the scale of a Halaa battle at primetime. Terrokar questing and levelling was in turmoil for hours. It felt like the WoW equivalent of assassinating a world leader.
Slashignore the hunterI remember back in the vanilla wow (level 60) i only had ONE charmy precious hunter, me and my guild was raiding BWL on the Balnazzar serverin a guild called The Agency. We had been trying to get Nefarian down for some weeks and that day.. the very best day in my wow life, we killed Nefarian. and guess what dropped.. the one and only i had been talking about getting that sword because it would greatly improve my playstylewhen pvping.. All the hunters in the raid whispered to me.. BID IT ALL .. i knew i could get it if i wanted it.. i i went all in.. the warriors and the paladins in the guild didnt wanna use too much of their dkp .. because they were picky, so i got the ashkandi infront of themback then it gave 42 agil wich was x2 attackpower for hunters. Our guildrule said that any class could bid on anything so after the biddings guildmaster said"and Ashkandi goes to our hunter Slashignore, its a shame but the fault is yours, warriors and paladins"The news went serverwide and people either loved me, hated me or just found it crazy funny. Several warriors and paladins simply /ignored me. Nearly all hunters drooled.i still have the weapon this day on my hunter.. yet my hunter is abandonned. but the legend of Slashignore the hunter with Ashkandi lives!
My favorite memory in Wow was during the beginning of Lich King when my guild had a group running The Undying in Early Naxramous. It was the first time trying this and we were making good time. We we're bragging how good we were, when I suddenly pulled trash. It wiped us... Luckily it didn't count towards the achievement. We ended up getting the title first try though. People congratulate us for the getting the rare title...little did they know how we wiped on trash! Not very 'undying' if you ask me! How embarrassing! >_>
Vanilla WoW, Shadowsong server. Horde Premade. On Farm guard duty, by myself, in AB. Five allies swarm down off the Lumber Mill. HELP the FARM, I calmly screamed. High Warlord Wenda and HIgh Warlord Carbonite responded, we held the base. I watched in awe.
My best memory was being level 80 and finally getting good enough gear to raid. I was so excited when my guild asked me if I wanted to do a raid with them. We only did two bosses that day but I still got a decent amount of loot. I was so thrilled especially when a couple days later they asked me if I wanted to do Icecrown Citadel. I tried so hard to be an awesome DPs and when I had to log in the middle I was disappointed but they still said I was a great DPS. I'll never forget that memory of WoW!
Hmmm there's been lots of great moments. Some of my favorite are the ones when WOW glitches. There is nothing funnier than when your flying and your mount disappears and your toon is flapping their arms like they are wings. Oh and how can one forget the odd glitches prior to the Cataclysm. I don't know about anyone else but I do have to say it was funny when the fire & flames turned into different icons and the grounds turned into water. I love this game when it works great with so many quests similar to so many beloved science fiction films and great books it's hard to pick 1 but so few seem to enjoy the glitches when they occur as I do!
