I agree with Varinn. WoD was 'fast food' and the formula didn´t work, I can hardly believe they would think that. The most important announcement they can do on thursday is F2P, another fast expansion has no appeal
just some very ballpark estimated figures here12 million people 15 dollars a month is 180 million dollars a month5 million people 15 dollars a month is 75 million dollars a monthloss of 105 million dollars a month ? how many developers would that buy ?i know these figures are just off the cuff, and that there are a lot of costs in equipment bills etc to be taken into accountbut the basic figures the ones given.
6.1 should not have been considered a major patch. Hellfire should have been 6.1 - or they should have done Faralohn and Ogre Island as 6.1, and Hellfire as 6.2.
I just hope, they seriously think about what went wrong with WoD before releasing the next xpack, another one like this and they might be seeing the end of an era.
People playing with tokens and purchased game time cards do not count as subscribers. Furthermore, when is this flying patch coming out.. we were told weeks just under 2 months ago..then again we were also told 6.2 was not the final patch and there was more story to come. We were also told we would fight the iron horde and they would be the center of the expansion. Back in 2006 we were also told we would fight kiljaeden again, but apparently now is not an appropriate time to bring him back.. we were also told that this expansion would revitalize wow , and instead it now has lost a record number of subscribers. we were also told that this expansion would not be filled with grinding dailies and repetitive tasks - yet it has more of those than any expansion ever launched. LIke i could go on and on and on. Fury of hellfire one of the largest non - expansion content patches..sure, just keep stockpiling all these lies. the game is dying. Unless the next expansion ressucitates it it will be dead within a year. No one in their right mind is giong to buy into another wow expansion however, not after this one promised so much and failed to deliver - and yes, for lack of trying. They don't give a crap about wow anymore and it is pretty darn obvious. That, and the fact i do not have 16 hours a day to invest in a video game is why i have quit. this is not conspiracy, these are facts.
Don't look at the sub numbers too much. For investors only one thing is relevant: Is Blizzard (Activison) still the big hit machine in the future? I'd say yes. Hearthstone is proof for it, HotS will be proof, and Overwatch will be proof as well. Also, 5.6 mio. subs is not shabby at all. Which MMO has that, especially considering that WoW is 10 years old by now?
Wow.. Cant say I didn't see that one coming. Hopefully Blizz will take notes and the new expansion they are going to be talking about on the 6th will blow Draenor out of the water
I want Titan! Well me and my friends still enjoy raiding in this game and server are as full as ever, Will be exiting to see whats next. Bought 13 tokens this summer to sell for gold god im to lazy ;p
Does this report include Those that are now active in-game via Tokens.Or just Cash Subs? The tokens were left out of previous reports, and this has a financial impact that needs to be considered. As Tokens cost more cash than Subscription.I believe that WoW, as a game, has nothing to fear, as it still rules the roost of MMORPG's, ans with the announcement of the new Ex-Pac coming out, if not soon, will bring folks back to play to be ready for new content.
