The first 50 players per region are awarded Master Angler of Azeroth, which is needed for Accomplished Angler. Previously this was awarded to the top three players on each realm. (Note: personal observation indicates the number of players awarded the achievement may be higher, but the BlizzCon Q&A and initial yell from Riggle Bassbait stated 50.)

The five grand prizes are unchanged, they are: Arcanite Fishing Pole, Hook of the Master Angler, Dread Pirate Ring, Boots of the Bay, and High Test Eternium Fishing Line.

Formerly, only the 1st place winner had a shot at some of the prizes, but Evitarani commented on Wowhead that they were able to pick up the Arcanite Fishing Pole today without being in 1st place.

A: We are bringing it back in the future. We're aiming for 7.1.5, but do not take it as a promise. The new technology broke it, sharding made it so there wasn't a singular STV so people couldn't win. Comment by darquisI got mine at 2;45 or so pacific, and he definitely did a half dozen or shouts in the 15 minutes I was out fishing - not a ton of competition today. I can't really tell if it's more generous than Wowhead said it was, or if it's just slow cuz it just came back - either way, got my dread pirate ring, so I'm finally all set and don't have to go anymore :DComment by RynaI was able to complete on two characters on the same account. This should be on a rotational schedule.Comment by RayythA lot of people in this thread seem to be overlooking that it's 50 across the whole region, not just on your server or the servers you're CRZd with. There's around 250 servers in the NA region, which includes US/Oce/LAmerican/Brazil. Definitely not a 'participation prize', in fact it will be harder than before - unless I'm misunderstanding how often the world quest is going to spawn.Comment by DifdiThis is a HEFTY nerf.
