No, we do not need to calm down just because this is alpha/beta/prepatch/PTR. You know what we did in alpha/beta/prepatch/PTR for hunters in Legion? Complained our specs didn't feel right. Offered tons upon tons of feedback. Explained in detail WHERE it felt like *!@# and even offered suggestions on how to fix it. People jumped around yelling 'It's only alpha/beta/ptr it can change!' Guess what?It took several patches of LIVE before they even bothered to offer a baseline QOL fix as a legendary. And then longer yet, to offer that QOL improvement that helped fix the spec as a baseline skill! WHEN WE MENTIONED IT, AS SOON AS BM FOR TESTING, GOT RELEASED. Hunters have learned to not trust 'It's only alpha/beta/ptr/prepatch' the HARD way, Blizzard didn't listen to a damn thing the last time. We MUST make noise, offer feedback and desperately try to get Blizzard to pay attention THIS time - because they didn't last time. Pets may just be the icing on the cake.
If all pets do the same damage and your group already has lust, won't cunning be the best pets by far? Movement speed is king as far as secondary stats go.
Everyone hating on this as a general concept is undeniably spoiled. It all makes sense plain and simple.
Honestly I usually don't play hunter (I know, ironic name) but I'm unhappy about this. I know transmogs are very important for some players and it seems to be taking away a piece of transmog with this update. If you told me that I had to use a certain helm transmog for optimal play, I'd be upset.
I remember days where everyone had to have the same pet. Where I couldn't take the pet I wanted into dungeons or raids, because I had to have the pet that was considered the best one. I had to have pets I didn't even like. Are we really going to go back to that in the name of "individuality" and "uniqueness"? I really hope not.At the moment, being a BM hunter is visually so much fun, especially with Dire Stable. Going from that to what BFA looks like right now will be devistating.
At first I commented saying that this was a great change. NVM. I assumed that we would be able to change pet specs, allowing EVERY PET to have either brez, master's call, or BL. It makes no sense for Blizzard not to give everyone the choice of choosing their favorite pet.. I thought this was why this was being implemented.. Why don't they just make Brez, BL, and Master's call be a learned spell for every pet spec, like heart of the phoenix or last stand...
It's about time they learned from, at least, this one mistake they made years ago. Now if they could bring back ammo/arrows. And fix their tremendously horrendous mistake of flying lock-out. And expand the # of pets a hunter can store.Did they finally get a manager who knows WTF s/he is doing?
Not okay with it, I want to choose their spec and go for looks first.
cry like lil babies some more...i wish they would really give each pet a special attack....Core hound fire breath Pig tusk rip ...turtle shell whirl give our pets some real damage and style in a CD of course
I don't see Charge anywhere in the skill list, even for pets like Boars that have always had it since vanilla wow. Are we losing Charge as a pet skill?
This is why Alphas should be under an NDA
Hunter pet specs remain the same, Perc. They never change.
Hopefully this change doesn't make it to Beta, let alone release. Absolutely stupid, I've always treated pet type as a cosmetic choice, not an ability choice. My Night Elf exclusively uses Nightsabers and Hippogryphs, the last thing I want is to have to whip out a Bear if I end up in a situation where I need a tank.
I seriously hope this doesn't go live. This is a horrid change. My oldest pet is a Raptor. The definition of a bloodthirsty predatory beast... And you're making it NOT Ferocity? My oldest tanking pet is my Gorilla... who is now no longer a tank.CUNNING IS A WORTHLESS PET SPEC, QUIT FORCING IT ON US.
I like how committed they are to making spirit beasts the least useful for the most time investment of all pet tames. /sarcasm
