@MysticalOS DUDE, why didn't you come to us earlier. You are a legend, and every time DBM saves me in a raid, I think about the person behind the add-on. You DO have friends, you have millions of them. We all respect you and are ready to carry you, just like you carried us through all these raids. Sending some cash!
Zygor Guide has gone to a subscription based addon and still works within the game? It may be against the terms of use but blizzard doesn't appear to be enforcing it.
MysticalOS, don't feel bad, this is not charity or begging. You're making a product that is valued and quality. It's quite reasonable to ask for support. To be honest, for your sake I wish such information had been more visible earlier, especially when the EJ partnership volume changed as you mention it had an impact on you. I often wondered at how often DBM was updated and who maintained it, truth be told I just had assumed it was a group effort of some elite addon community I was not privy to.It's really quite sad that Blizzard relies on a few common mods as a means to deprioritize many UI enhancements and systems, yet doesn't even appear to sponsor the authors (inasmuch as the same support they give "influencers" and other "content producers"). At the least they could offer information to the community to at least give visibility of who is behind the "free" tools and mods many players use.
Jesus I thought there was a team performing this. I cannot even imagine doing the amount of work this guy does.
Keep up the good work!I am a patron for about two years now and that there are only 1867 so far makes me sad.
Well, I knew that the mod was created by just one person and I always asked myself how he could handle that amount of work on his own... Now I ask myself why i never cared enough to look it up.This, certainly, is an answer. Creating mods for a videogame full time - impressive imo. Risky, since you at least partially rely on the success of the game, but impressive. And, this might be a slight exaggeration, but I would say modern WoW would not be the same (for me) without DBM. Therefore, confronting myself with the simple question "Would you pay money to use this mod" is definitely a yes. Not much, I admit that, but 1$ or even 5$ a month is, luckily enough, completely fine for me atm. And, if just one in 100000 Downloaders (and I presume it will be more than that) can give away one dollar that would mean a noticeable increase, so why not be one of them?On top of that that guy seems like an amazing person regardless of what he does for me/the community.
Signed up on Patreon now to support. Thanks for a great addon.

You know, it always sort of amazes me when you have a mod that has become so ubiquitous that it's practically a part of the game/ui because just about everyone uses it that Blizzard doesn't just hire the people behind it on as some sort of freelancer to add it to the game. Clearly the people behind such mods are passionate about the game and the work they're doing, since making mods for WoW isn't really a lucrative career. Why they don't try and tap into that more really boggles my mind.Even if it's just hiring them on so that it becomes officially supported in a sense, but not necessarily a part of the default UI (that way both Bigwigs and DBM could be included under the umbrella instead of forcing one over the other). Hell even if it were just a simple "Mod officially licensed by Blizzard" where they pay them a bit for it and maybe offer some free support/troubleshooting to help keep it up to their standards. There are so many ways they could do this, and I think it would be a boon for a lot of the modders out there if they helped prop up the core mod frameworks that just about everyone uses.
Someone should seriously pay his way to Blizzcon...
Hope everything changes for the better for you and your mother.
You don't know how much you and your work mean to me. All those times where I had to fight a boss for the first time, but you were there to advise me and event to prevent me from dying! Legend! Take my pledge, and I really hope everything will get better for you!
Amazingly, Adam's now reached over 3000 patrons! The gold plated computer chair and mattress stuffed with 100's apparently are within his grasp ;)
Also it seems Blizzard did something nice too: https://imgur.com/gallery/BnhOVsr
