I freakin love these videos lol Taliesin's sass is the best. Pls keep sassin' the haters, makes me giggle. Also; the fact that people can't comprehend your objectivity just proves yet again the dunning-krueger effect.
I don't mind critical comments, but just to comment that you don't like it (for no good reason) is silly. In fact, that's sort of the point of T&E - to challenge people who just like to complain for complaining's sake. Get over it, not everyone in the world will share your particular and exact world view. Most of the "" segments of T&E are spot on and pretty funny.
The community has been frustrating me a lot this expac - so far on launch stuff has been almost identical to early legion and the frustration with leggos. Aside from Temple of Sethralis I like the new M+s a lot. It's been really discouraging to see the attitudes taken by a very, very loud portion of the community. It feels like a gamergate style harassment campaign to be honest.Anyone can just...glance at my wowhead profile to see I've been playing a long, long time (I've actually been playing longer than that - it just took me forever to register. I'm one of those $%^&s with the continuous-subscription wolf statue from the 10th anniversary lol). I've seen WoW way worse than this in terms of gameplay. Which doesn't mean there's nothing to fix - obviously it's a game and gameplay can always be tweaked - but this is honestly one of the best expac launches I've experienced and I've been there for all of them but Wrath*. BC, Vanilla, Cata, and Mists were waaay rockier (Cata in particular was ROUGH with overtuning). Some of it was technical limitations - like, BC suffered from the fact that you had to get your hands on physical discs to play it - but Blizz has been consistently getting better over the life of the game with the exception of the WoD dip (Even then - WoD had a strong launch. It just dropped the ball on everything *after* launch).Tali and Evitel have been one of the few voices of reason this expansion. Do I agree with them all the time? Nah. But they seem way more interested in facts than many of the... personalities on youtube. (I don't think they're particularly positive - I think they're upbeat in tone but ultimately have a pretty balanced view on things). The toxicity a lot of streamers have brought to the community has soured me strongly to the entire concept of wow 'superstars'. I honestly wish some of the people throwing giant hissyfits or spreading "alternative facts" about sub numbers or wild assumptions about Blizz's production schedule WOULD unsub and go play something else. Their absence in the community would improve my game experience more than almost anything Blizz could do in the game. In terms of thing that have made BFA a sour experience for me the state of the comments or the reddit any time I make the mistake of glancing at them has far outpaced ANYTHING in game. What's wrong with BFA? In my opinion it's mostly people who act like children (and I kinda suspect may in fact be minors) trying to earn their cyber tantrum merit badges in cubscouts.---*My sub didn't drop but I was taking a break for a few months. I was in college and thought I'd canceled the sub to be honest. I was pretty sour when I picked it up later in the xpac and realized the sub had never been canceled and I was out what then seemed like a ton of money (I had just thought I was spending a lot on food). Imagine my delight years later when they sent out the orc-on-a-wolf statue - it felt like compensation for that boo-boo. Happy accidents.
I didn't like the way T&E presented the current problems with BfA in their latest videos. Some friends of mine didn't have the same view, and that's normal. That aside, Taliesin's artistic analyses of cinematics/comics/etc are excellent and I consider them a very fine complement to the cinematics themselves. Also, the weekly resets are usually very entertaining for me, from the funny intros, to the forum s-shows, the puns and the humor. Some friends of mine don't have the same view, and that's also normal. But I really can't understand why some people feel the need to come to the comments here and whine about Wowhead's choice to publish an article every week, and how "T&E suck", and how their experience with the site is ruined because they can't avoid seeing some thumbnail, and how "T&E are Blizz shills", and how there's some conspiracy where Wowhead favors them because they defend Blizzard or whatever.Like, seriously? Do you expect Wowhead to cater to your (or mine, or anyone else's) personal likes and dislikes? And in the end, we 're getting a free product (the database, the guides, the comments, the news) that costs money to create, maintain and distribute. Wowhead has the absolute right to collaborate with whomever they want in order to help keep the whole thing going. If someone doesn't like their collaborations then they can always refrain from using the product?
Love their videos. I don't get what you guys are complaining about. They did bring up that the currency addition might not even be what everyone is expecting. They always talk about the current problems, just not in a exaustingly negative kind of way.
I like Taliesin and Evitel. I enjoy their videos; they're likable people, the videos are entertaining, and also informative. I also understand that their perspective is just *one* perspective on the game, one that they're as entitled to have and to present as other content creators who are more outspokenly negative. The thing is, I don't gripe about the outspokenly-negative content creators simply for having an opinion or a presentation style I don't happen to like. I simply choose not to watch their content, or watch them less often. I also don't gripe at WowHead for daring to post something I don't like or doesn't apply to me; I just ignore it and look at other posts of theirs instead. Chances are, there are lots of other people who like that content or who find value in it even if *I* don't.There's a reason why Taliesin almost always makes fun of the overwhelmingly hyperbolic doom-and-gloom the-world-is-ending vitriol on the forums, and I like that he pokes fun at those people. It's actually possible to take issue with a valid problem present in the game (and this expac has plenty of problems) and to articulate that grievance, without completely going overboard, or worse, being needlessly nasty.
Don't get why people are getting so offended by the T&E posts. If you don't like them then simply don't click on the link. I also don't like the state of the game, but it doesn't mean I think everyone trying to post positive vids are "shills" They're fine and they provide good info, I enjoy watching their vids.
Thanks T&E for the content and updates - I watch every Weekly Reset and look forward to your videos, thank you for your time.As for the state of the game, and in my opinion, the single biggest mistake Blizzard made with WoW has been removing Guild progression and the Guild Achievement focus. Group Finder has absolutely liquefied guild raid teams leading to pugging/getting carried which has just been toxic to say the least. The "community" Blizzard seeks for its players was and has always been in a guild working to achieve it for the guild, now, its "I have that achieve oh, you don't...sorry you can't join or you need XXX ilvl or no invite" Gone are the days when guild members met to work on a guild achievement. My global list of friends that I have had over the years are former guildies. Game play with any of them results in a fantastic experience because we learned to work together and celebrated together. I've even met up with some at past Blizzcon's (5 years of attending, this year I turned down 2 different tickets). I remember when it meant something to be in a guild. I haven't raided Mythic since Siege of Org because we can't keep 20 people together long enough for the team to mature in its progression. The player environment has an element that is just toxic. Furthermore, this is the second expansion where the player base has suffered from poorly developed core functions within the game. In Legion it was secondary stats, unbalanced leggo rewards and in BFA its 340 gear and traits outperforming higher gear with its less then desirable traits. How and what consequences is being done for those missing these simple to identify problems. In my opinion these are fire-able offenses with apologies aimed at the player base. Finally, expecting the community to now buy gear by farming tokens as an alternative and keeping it "Random" is not answering the communities concerns. Asking people to go out of their way to save up tokens to buy cache's, who are we kidding? The first time a player saves up tokens, buys the cache, and opens it up to get a random result that is not desirable, that player is done or will simply be discouraged. It is simple, and in its purest form, higher gear is better then lower gear, period. Remove titanforge or cap it at 10 lvls and warforge at 5 lvls. Stop handing 395 lucky loot cache's to any player. But, I'm not going to save up tokens to buy a random piece of gear cache. Its just that simple.
Taliesin and Evitel are plenty critical of the game and Blizzard, they simply wrap it up in humor.Too bad that's lost on the Negative Nancy-crowd. Guess a content creator isn't good unless it's always obviously angry over something, right?
Who is Rimmer? Lots of time they put British pop culture refs in this show that I don't really understand.
I like that they're trying what they can at this stage but let's be honest.. the game has seriously gone backwards since legion. The game could never be so boring as it is now. And even T&E can't help in that department no matter how positive and enthusiastic they are told to be. The game is in real dire straits.. is this the beginning of the end, only time will tell... My prediction.. the best is now behind us!
Oh, I get it now. People think mocking community overreactions is the same as mocking the problems they're concerned about. Now the hate makes more sense.
So 24th will be 8.1 Live ?
Love the game, enjoy it all. Enjoy E&T, keep them linked. Not enjoying the toxic personalities on Youtube.Red Dwarf is a classic.
I like their videos and always watch them with a smile and laugh :) keep creating such nice videos u two :P
