The currency states it also comes from scrapping or disenchanting Azerite armor so I'm assuming people who don't run M+ will still be able to get currency.
the gameplan is probably to just take the cheap route until you have something in every slot and then be specific - hefty pricetag for having a choice.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, Tired of getting useless trash after waiting a week for your cache? Then lets make it several weeks to get a trash item and several months of grinding to get three pieces you actually want, Yeah no, I'll stay on xcom and fallout, I really want my hundred dollars back from buying bfa and their time-gated 50 dollar time-limited demo. Blizzard is such garbage now.
This is basically bad luck protection on a vendor. The game had it before and it was amazing. I am glad they are going back to this system. The weekly chest thing is dumb and the random luck on it bad. I have heard time and again how people get their chest only to be disappointed by whats in it.
6 weeks completing +10. Whats about completing +15?
Holy hell, the cost to actually avoid the dreaded RNG is absurdly high, and you will either have to wait a long time playing normally to afford it or subject yourself to a dreadful grind. Again, great idea, but woeful implementation. Blizzard is all about giving with one hand and taking with the other nowadays.
Looks like im a gonna be farming azerite armors and scrapping
Put some of this currencies in raid boss drops?Sanguicell drop is completely useless on my main that has got enchanting and tailoring....
Almost 5 months to get the 3 pieces you need... please bring tier sets back, that was a lot less painful to get and a lot less grindy
I am one of the lucky few who got two 385 azerite items so far by doing +10s but this system is a nice change.Of course the chance of the chest was low and you have to be lucky but please don't forget that 385 is mythic raiding content (or the 8.1 counterpart iLvl) so it's totally fair to cost that much. Either you raid mythic or you have to work hard to get those pieces. And not even in a 20-man-raid you are guaranteed to get a 385 right away so this way you have a 100% chance to get the item you want - after a given amount of time! It's not like Blizz wants to gift us all of this while mythic Raiders have to do the content all over again.
Based on those prices and the '2-3 weeks' estimate for the random caches, I'm going to ballpark a +10 chest at 600 impurity, give or take. Scrapping could be whatever Blizzard decides, but the return on that is probably structured similar to the scaling for the item level prices, with each item level jump probably scrapping for about 3x more than the one below it.
It is nice the RNG-addled devs finally were forced to relent a bit.RNG is only fun if you luck into something that you can otherwise obtain or substitute in a reasonable amount of time.It still doesn't address the fundamental lack of fun and intuitiveness of azerite crap, or the rigidity and need to patch class or spec issues using very specific combinations, but it's something.I still dislike the attempt to brute-force M+ and raiding to be exclusive and alternative with each other (by making M+ gear significantly weaker to raid gear for random group that doesn't optimize composition for the purpose). In Legion, after some time of progressing in a raid, M+ was a great, fun way to get a few pieces that were better than what you could get from the bosses you were killing, thus giving you a hand in your effort to clear. A pleasant feedback loop, which is now gone.A +8 and better, which just barely match heroic raid rewards, are uncomparably harder than a good portion of heroic uldir encounters, and triply so because there's an effing timer, too. In legion, on a heroic-raid geared toon, I could easily (and rightfully so, considering group scale) clear same-level plusses, and pushing higher meant rewards that were otherwise unobtainable.Oh I do get the retarded trend of "MUH ESPORTS!", but Blizzard should be aware that's returning to the dying game of 10-years ago that the stockholders already rejected - making content that maybe 2% of the playerbase will ever see and enjoy. Not even mentioning that sports are quite often enjoyed more from the sofa - if "my game" is elsewhere, then I don't have my own keys and timers and struggling to compare to adn feel bad about, not to mention keeping my money in my wallet.Ironically, in Legion it still worked, because rank-and-file grunts like me still had results and blue raider.io ranks to show off with a bit of effort. Those orange people running +25s were easier to stomach. Now, more than ever, I feel spat on and humiliated, literally funsucked. Not a great effect to achieve for an "entertainment business" like Blizzard. TBH, I'd be already gone for a spell, as I've done before when devs were acting pants-on-head retarded - if I didn't get suckered by that sweet pirate ship mount. At least, I hope getting team heads fired and bringing Holinka back is a sign the c-suite at Blizzard is reacting.
Mind you this is based on ONLY looting the weekly cache. (This doesn't include your disenchanted Azerite pieces from raids, dungeons, world quests and caches). Based on that it's probably one reset for a random 385 and 3 resets for a premium one.
