I do not see it as changing the story, but adding a few bits and pieces so things make sense. Also adding weight and emotion to dialogue, such as the Jaina-Daelin interaction. The difference between WC3 and the cinematic in Thros is immense, and they want to bring that emotion into the game. Change is not always bad.
"We ruined the story with WoW so we had to keep true to it in the remake by retconning things to ruin the story you arleady knew too"
Ah, news about Warcraft 3 Reforged !>Christie GoldenExcuse me i'll go buy a phone, Diablo Immortal sounds good in the end
Oh boy; here comes self-insert love interest for a main character..
Sweet, preordered, waiting impatient for this treasure, and these concept arts are very good. <3
that DH hairstyle is only available on blood elf male atm. hopefully we can see it added to both night elf male and female in the future
Golden has been writing novels on these characters since before the original WC3 even released. I, for one, am glad to have someone so close to the franchise and the characters therein working on this. The fact that she recognizes something even as originally crass as "Me not that kind of Orc" as iconic and still funny gives me all the reassurance I need that this is being handled well.
I need an art book now.
War3 had a bunch of varied retcons itself that most people don't bother caring about. Stratholme was a city on an inland lake as a relevant example. The colors in War3 were already mucked up. Arthas and his merry crew should be running around in white but because that's used for the "your own units" color on the minimap Lordaeron got changed to blue and light blue. Grom and the Warsong clan were red in Beyond the Dark Portal but were suddenly purple for War3. Stromgarde was now brown and so on and so forth.People go on about how "WOW IS CORRUPTING WAR3" as if it's some new development when it's been doing that since Day One of classic period.
