Seriously, is this still build 29281? Or has the PTR build number gone up? Because I'm unable to update it any further than that right now.
there price was correct but there is less gold out there now so the adjustment is warrented
Certainly a very welcome change! However, some of those upgrades are unnecessary if you're progressing through the game. For example, in Legion, there was no point for me to upgrade my weapon (since my artifact weapon(s) would always be "better"). Similarly in BfA, I don't anticipate upgrading (or using) the heirloom helm or chest armor. While the added experience would certainly be welcome, it's arguably better to don some BfA quest reward Azerite gear.Of course, on the other hand, now that Legion is over, I'll still need to upgrade weapons so that I have a viable weapon option for levels 111-120.
As people have stated, having a single token to upgrade an heirloom is the most logical course of action. Though the price reduction will be a welcome one. 15k and 22k is over the top.
Step in the right direction but even a remotely intelligent person with boat-loads of gold isn't going to bother upgrading heirlooms in their current state. Especially given how fast leveling is without them. There are a lot of suckers out there though... and it seems this is who Blizzard is targeting.
as you can see if you don't like something, you can persuade dev to change it
This is a nice QOL change similiar to the battle chest beign removed from the market so new players can create an acct and play everything up to the previous xpac for free up to level 20 or with a sub to max level requiring the new player to only buy the current xpac. When Hierlooms upgrades came out I had only a handful of alts to use and cap with. I didnt dump gold into upgrading the hierlooms I needed and I didnt level different alt characters back to back so the gold was spent over time. I have every hierloom upgraded to level 110. Also every holiday event with a currency like the Lunar Festival currently going or Darkmoon Faire which is also up this week overlapping sells hierloom upgrade tokens for tickets. If you are playing alts and never wanted to pay with gold you never had to. You just had to play the holiday events. Still this is nice that there isnt as much of a sink on players. Its unfortunate that a lot of players still whine about old stuff when things have been improved. At the end of the day if you dont like something or how its implemented dont support
you all are talking like gold is so hard to make now days 100k is what a day of farming flowers .. maybe more if your a weekend warrior i do agree the prices where a little high but only when you look at doing them all in 1 day
If you're an altoholic like me who needs to know I have all the heirlooms I'll ever need to level ANYTHING, then...For a full set of heirlooms with minimal overlap, but allowing for every spec to level, assuming- You have already upgraded everything to level 100- You do not need a necklace due to heart of azerothArmorYou will needHead x 4Shoulders x 4Chest x 4Pants x 4Cloak x 3Trinket x 1 (the healing one is enough IMO)Shield x 2 (1 str and 1 int)Total 22 armor tokens for 5000 eachWeaponsYou will needStr2H Sword (Arms, Fury, Ret, Blood, Unholy)1H Sword (Prot, Prot, Frost)AgiBow (MM, BeastM)Staff (Surv, Feral, Guardian, BrewM)Dagger (Sub, Assn)1H Mace (Outlaw, Enh, WW, Havoc, Vng)IntStaff (All clothies, RestoDruid, Balance, MW)Mace (Ele, RestoShammy, HolyPally)Total 8 weapon tokens for 7500 eachTOTAL: 170000gAgain, assuming all of that is already upgraded. This is the minimum IMO, but will be more if you want tank-specific cloaks or trinks or something, or if you're dealing with rings? I don't care about rings personally. Although, this leaves 5% below your cap of 50% bonus xp.
Funny, I had just been having a discussion with some folks on my server last night/this morning on this very topic. I had actually thought the armor ones were 7500 and the weapon ones 10k, but this works too...
YES! Blizzard listened to feedback <3Now I won't be poor in 8.1.5
Hope this also applies to alternative currencies (I bought most of my upgrade tokens with Timeless Badges)
still too expensive in my opinion also i wish they undid the nerf to the stats so they are actually useful as gear while leveling and not a burden you have to enchant to make them slightly useful as gear.
If you have no cloak and are able to buy the new heirloom Banded Gilnean Cloak you "only" need to upgrade for your faction, as it covers INT, STR, and AGI in one item.
I miss when you could buy and upgrade heirlooms with justice points, by just running dungeons. You'd get plenty of justice while running for valor.
