where do these play in-game though?
Warcraft music has been consistently excellent. That little panflute motif from Zuldazar has become one of my all-time favorites.
Incredible music! Such talented individuals in this world.
I'm such a Void elf devotee. Between their release and now I've either leveled or racechanged into owning 7 of them in my 20+ roster of 110+ characters. Their whole aesthetic just speaks to me, and their music falls right in line with this obsession!
Excelent article. I would like to see more of this kind of comparisons and inspirations with the world.
The Mag'har Orcs music have a composition that remembers me a lot of the God of War 2 music.
Very nice article with great music!
Thanks for the support on this article! Before Wowhead, I actually studied music and taught some music theory/composition classes. While going into chord progressions is probably too obscure for the general player base (and I'm rusty), I wanted to experiment with improving how Wowhead covers BFA music. Hopefully I'll do more articles in the future like this!

This may be one of the articles I enjoyed the most on Wowhead. I think the music in WoW is horribly underrated, so I'm always happy if it gets some time to shine. Comparing stuff from WoW with it's real life inspiration is also quite interesting. I'd love to see more articles like this one!
I'm sick of talking about them, when do we get to play them already? It's been a frickin' year. I get we were never given a solid date, but dang, this is just nonsense.
I absolutely love this article. The music has always been one of the most immortally incredible parts of WoW. Something about the orc music: While whether it came up much in the Draenor themes escapes me, it occasionally features throat singing, as practiced in places of central Asia such as Mongolia and Kazakhstan. Fitting. It's an acquired musical taste (much like bagpipes) but I find it incredible to listen to.
I love leitmotifs. I thought one of the new Kirin Tor themes has part of Stormwind's theme in it. Is there an addon that tells you what track is playing in-game?
Many might be the flaws of BfA from the gameplay to story narrative , but undeniably, the music at this expansion is an epitome of environmental aesthetics and the respected feelings that each location and situation trigger. The void elf music makes me feel like a monstrous, otherworldly exile, Vol'dun makes me feel despaired as I travel through a hopeless deserted location used as a death penalty , the music of BoD stresses me and reminds me of the urgency of the situation and how unexpected the attack was. In my opinion at least, the music of BfA (the allied races are a BfA feature therefore their music too, even though it was released at the end of Legion ) has surpassed the success of every other expansion.
