b-but muh 2 rogues every MDI comp... imbalance too... retail has no balance as well.......
These chart are made with a retail mentality in mind, Paladin, druid, shaman and Spriest are utility class in classic.
I see, in retail at least patches are still fresh and balance team is trying to do something with classes being in the low-tier of dps, meanwhile Classic? Lmao, those people who are playing dps paladins/shamans or druids will be treated like trashcans only because they choosed this class, and not the other one which are mainstream. #Rerroll #GitGud, top kek.
Warlocks are S+ Tier and bring the most damage to the raids.Every group brings minimum of 10 mages. Usually up to 20.Curse of elements = +10% frost damage. Add that 10% from each mage and combine with warlock dps and it will be first on the damage meter always.
Whilst I don't agree with the whole tier list mentality on principle, I appreciate that this particular article put more time into highlighting the benefits that utility classes bring to the table than the previous tier lists on here. This was definitely an improvement I was happy to see included!
This list is extremely flawed.
The comments are as predictable as the results of the logs.Still, good article.
This analysis is rubbish. Not sure why you wouldn't put rogues in the "S" Tier with warriors, not doing so messes with the rest of the list. According to the chart there is a 30 DPS average difference between rogues and warriors, I don't think that warrants an entire tier demotion, especially when your "B" rank has 3x this gap within members of its own tier. Plus, choosing to place rogues in their own "A" tier, artificially demotes all the non-rog/war classes into the metaphorical alphabet dumpster.I think dps-minded support classes would be more valued (appropriately) if you were placing them in B and C tiers with utility caveats which would be a balanced way to represent this list in the era of Vanilla WOW.
rogues are almost always op and top tier
Nevermind Blessings and other buffs serving as the only reason why pures are able to get so high. Making judgements off of which color bar is the highest is illogical in classic.Say a paladin throws out salvation on all the DPS warriors, allowing them to push their damage envelope further without fear of stealing threat. This would never be possible without said paladin, so effectively, you could count all that extra group DPS as the paladin's contribution.
lol these people commenting on utility in a dps post. Guess what, you still bring utility in a more fitting role as healers shaman and paladins. Absolutely no need for you to take up a dps slot :)Everyone knew this going in I don't see why they're so angry about it now.
Balance being tier F is a complete misunderstanding. Balance Druids have innervate, which the author totally skipped. The main difference between balance and feral, is that balance doesn't rely on combo points or energy, so can innervate at any time without a significant DPS loss. In terms of DPS meters, then indeed, they will not do well. If we just compare the meters to determine usefulness - innervating the healer instead of yourself makes you "worse", and if you wipe because of aggro - you are too "good".In Classic, DPS meters don't quite matter this much. But even more stupid think is healing meters. It's basically the less, the better. Because more healing means either less mitigation, or lost aggro. Healing doesn't matter at all, unless someone dies - in this case, it's the last seconds that are decisive. The healer's HPS throughout the entire fight won't save you if the healer slacks during the few seconds.
Articles like this are what 'kills' live and will 'kill' classic. Let's just tell people that no one should play shaman or druid. You don't understand the sheep mentality of today's players.
