Why is this called Tyrande's Ascension? Is she transforming? Is that why she's waving that godawful fist-thing around? Since this is from 2018, before BfA burned itself to the ground, maybe it was intended for some plot twist that didn't happen. That naked black moon sure doesn't make this look like much of a victory ceremony.I guess it's good Maiev's mellowed on Tyrande's betrayal. Yay. Now kiss?
I mean, it's better than nothing......but as a way to close Tyrande's BfA story, it's bad.
It probably is the followup to the HC WF Quest for Alliance - which would explain why the HC Quest did not become active for US Alliance but did activate for EU Horde (who were in the exact same state). The "cutscene" is not finished and therefore they could not activate it for the Alliance. The question is, wheter most players would have prefered getting an ilvl460 item now instead of having to wait for it 3 1/2 weeks and then getting this "gorgeous" cutscene ontop of it...As for the scene itself....yeah....it's nice that it exists, i guess. After getting full blown HD cinematics of how the Night Elves were massacred one single hacked together cutscene of how they win seems a little bit out of proportion....but somebody at Blizzard thought this is fine. It's better than getting nothing.
So what are the actual conditions for getting this quest to spawn? I went to Darkshore on my character who completed the chain and unlocked the customization, nothing. I went on my (different) character who actually did the warfront this cycle, also nothing. I'm not sure what I'm missing or need to do.Edit: Or is it only up on the EU servers? I'm not quite clear on that.
Did they throw this together last minute? Oof. I'm wondering if a new garrison mission would've been more satisfying than this wooden high school theater.
IF you had paid attention to why Tyrande left to fight the battle for darkshore. Gen and the Gilnean joined her in the battle. They supported her so of course she is close to Genn and the Worgen
This just seems so pathetic. She declares "We are Kaldorei!" while her home is a burnt husk behind her filled with the charred corpses of said Kaldorei. I can't help but feel this is BfA's version of WoD's "Draenor is Free!" in that both were attempts to wrap up narratives in which Blizzard totally wrote themselves into corners and couldn't conclude them properly.
I love that at the end there's like...one person doing a slow clap. The rest are just silently pumping their fists in the air. Seems like Blizz could have put just a little more effort into the sound work. That being said, I guess it's cool that they threw that little tidbit in.
